Hey guys I'm about to do my first trip to prominent hill then in aprill possibly Olympic dam. Does anyone in the club work in these mines?

I'll be doing shutdowns / scaffolding.

Would be cool if a fellow member works there, I need ideas on what to spend all that cash on he he

I was at roxby for 12 months. I'll happily go to any mine in the country again as long as it's not that one haha.

 

Single best bit of advice I can give is bank all you can. Drink and be merry but it's all too easy to piss your cash up the wall in the desert when there's nothing else to do. And when your hanging with scaffies they like punching on, we put 8 of them on the plane one morning after their RDO boxing match.

The guys I work with ain't to bad plus I don't drink so I think I will just be banking all I can. I'm not looking forward to doing the time but atleast it's a good pay

It's good fun, but I imagine you'll be on a 3/1 or 4/1 week roster? I was on a 10/4 day roster which was pretty good, longest stint I did was 17 days straight. Dunno how some blokes go 4-5 weeks at a time!

With vertex. My bos is saying 4/1 but my son is 8wks old it's rediculous,a whole month from him is crazy. I know it's to make our life better in the future but that's gonna be so hard.I'm pretty sure one of our guys did 6 weeks straight, I think I would shoot myself after 4.

Project engineer for a construction job upgrading part of the process plant. Technically interesting job but some of the political dramas are insane!
