i had a looksey inside my thermostat today because of a overheating problem and found this

i no i need a new thermostat but do i have to go fishing through my motor to find the rest of the old one ?

When I zoomed in on the image, it kinda looks like it's been cut off with snips/shears? Ghetto-fix by previous owner perhaps? :lol:

If there's anything left, it's likely sitting in the top tank of the radiator.
