MYSTIK[RL] Posted May 30, 2006 Report Posted May 30, 2006 (edited) well for a time i had a set of ae92 sx series 2 brake calipers and rotors :P sitting round doing nothing. i sent them off to be reconditioned as they came off of a wreck. anyways to make a long story short the cars going in @ 8am this morning for the brakes to be installed(only so that i know that they are installed correctly :S) so hopefully i should be back on the road in the afternoon maybe thursday morning depends on how busy the guy gets in the afternoon with drop in whell alignments. anyways will post up the before and after pics later coz now i have to find my digi cam and take some pic of the current brakes. ok well i didnt have time to take pics of the old brakes on the car coz i was lazy and running late (as usual) but heres a pic of thr front discs(243mm dia and 13.5mm thick, solid discs) and the rear drums Edited June 1, 2006 by MYSTIK Quote

remrusty Posted June 27, 2006 Report Posted June 27, 2006 what is involved in going from rear drums to discs? how much did that set you back? Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted June 27, 2006 Author Report Posted June 27, 2006 going from drums to discs on the rear. all parts needed off of a sx/gti both rear hubs and baking plates rotors, calipers, brake lines hand brake cables and the both rear trailing arms well cost me $700 for all parts only coz i got front and rear brakes off of a series2 seca sx. plus i had all calipers recond and disc skimmed and installed @ the same time some labour on top (only coz i was to lazy to do it myself) $500(including brake pads front and rear wheel alignments) Quote
