i know theres no such thing as a 5k corolla engine, i was asking for the 5K liteace, but nowhere in victor harbor orders genuine toyota parts, just aftermarket. i couldnt be bothered driving to adelaide just for that so i went with aftermarket.

i rang API and they gave me the specs, whats the sequence? start in the middle and work your way out?

nope, i couldnt order toyota genuine where i am, so i got an aftermarket one.

you don't know the 5K? or is it universal between the k motors?

so after buying my ke30 from andy h, a few weeks later my head started to leak water into my pots. after inspection i found a brand new head gasket and a minor surface crack in my head, but the crack had the appearance of one that had been there for years. the mechanic at API engines lonsdale agreed. it looks like the previous owner has obviously had troubles with the crack before then just put on a brand new head gasket to buy him 3 months or so and sold it to me under the impression the car was gold. The head has been welded and shaved by API engines, ive bought a new water pump (because the old one was going to give out soon), and new gaskets for everything. Ive also painted my head, rocker cover, and water pump in anodized red and am doing my pulleys in anodized blue later on. so now I'm at the point where i reasemble my engine. I have a torque wrench but i don't know what tension the head bolts have to be for a 5k help? Ps. one good thing that came from all this, is that i realized my head has been ported!

so i have a minor crack/graze in my 5K head, where in adelaide is a good place to get it repaired?

well I'm buying that 4KE intake on thursday unless a 7KE magically appears for sale and is as good price as $120 plus this 4KE intake has chrome piping. :yes:

i could be wrong there could be other causes, but in my experience, thats what id expect, but a few comments above someone mentioned about only one brake working. that seems like a much more likely cause, because i'd assume youd need hectic twist in your chassis to have that big of effect

I'm fully aware EFI doesnt increase power, it is mearly a building block for a turbo set up that isnt blow or suck through. I plan on investing on a decent ECU etc, and i know it isnt cheap but my car is all i spend my pay on since i live with my parents, so I'm sweet. heres a short list of plans. front mount oil cooler, without relocation kit just a sandwich plate. turbo, not sure what, maybe T28 because of abundance. front mount intercooler, wastegate BOV etc i already have extractors, 2 inch system, coilovers, deep dish enkei's and more that i can't recall. oh and fender mirrors in the post from japan. so once this above have been acheived i should be sweet to start on the interior which is overrated cloth but i want leather. so i might sell the current seats, buy ripped ones and reupholster.

i don't know much about the conversion, but yes it will be harder to do, since fwd gearboxes are differant. I'm sure someone will help you a lot more than me though. but in my opinion id be looking for one thats already, ready for a RWD application

I've got a 5K engine, but I'm buying an EFI manifold for it, i don't need to change to solid lifters for this do i? I'm assume not since I'm keeping the 5K head. Do i need an Electronic Dizzy? or will the stock 5K work?

pulling to left is not a good sign, after you get a wheel alignment and fixing of brakes drive in a straight line on a flat road that doesnt have camber, then brake firmly and see if the car still pulls. if so, get another car.

Thanks, if you don't know you don't know, don't stress. cheers for all your help. ive got the rocker cover and waterpump etc off now, water pump is shagged, the outlet is all broken up and erroded (spelling?) so I'm gonna buy a new one monday, hopefully have her back up and running soon.

how much you buy the tomei's for? cause a site in america wants $12 each american then i have to pay postage. sound like a deal or shit? also do you know what chev engine your lifters are from? I'm gonna ring u pullit and give them a list of shit.

u pull it do the trick for the manifold? and whered you find the tomei pushrods? do you have any oil pressure problems running the chev lifters? i heard if you don't convert the 5k hydro ones you can loose pressure.

thanks very helpful info. any knowledge of anyone getting rid of an EFI manifold? or the best place to look? ebay? u pull it? also should i be going to u pull it for the lifters? or ask about on here? any idea on the cost of solid lifters?
