  1. Good point Onikage, unfortunately I've never been granted a garage spot. I'm not sure if the motor is kaput though, probably, and I wouldn't mind doing a 4AGE swap (although probably not the most financially smart option, it would be a great learning curve/experience, and satisfying). I would really like to find a leaking vacuum or something small and keep it driving fine, but its not looking good (especially since the rough idle (or lack of idle) is probably a totally different issue to the oil problem). If I were to go 4AGE, does anyone have any idea how I would go about the fuel setup? Since its not a sedan, and I plan to lay in the back on occasion, I don't really want an external fuel filter/pump/surge tank bolted to the floor. As for handling mods, I'm thinking some Corona springs cut for the front and reset leafs for the rear. The shocks can last for now but will probably need short strokes when the current ones eventually screw themselves.
  2. Hey everyone, So it appears I've been a member since 2010, I must've signed up and never done any more haha. My mates have all had Corolla's (more then what I can count of two hands), and after selling my ridiculous idea of a street car S13, I spent some dosh on other bits n bobs and found myself a 'daily'. Cheap, reliable, functionable. She's a 1984 AE71 Wagon. Manual, 270,000 km's. Noticed it had bigger rear drums and a filler/drain plug in the diff, and the driveshaft appears to be welded/customized, which my mates reckon means its from an ADM AE86 ('F' series?). The inspiration for my wagon: (There's many more sedans, and one pano, haha) And mine: When I got it, as filthy as it was! Cleaning/servicing. The advantage of being a student and living at home; you have access to your Dads wide selection of tools! Had a overrated dash so I ditched the mat. Bought some 15x7 +/-0 SSR's, put some RE001's on (oh, man, for a stock corolla, it handles amazing with those tires!). They're the same wheels (the actual ones) on the first yellow wagon above. Had a little tune, played with timing and throttle screw, got it running nicely., but for now I'm reading up on a 4age conversion. Thanks for reading! Tom.
