don't hava a tacho its somting to do with the carby i recon coz the car hade water in the fuel tank when i got it but i going a guy coming to mora to fix it so hopfully thats it

yeah stupid 7m engine the 6th piston was lose thats what i want a newer corolla i like the look of the ae101 sedans u know the late 1994 onwards ones I like the look of the sedans don't really like the hatches and they seem to be affordable i just got to save up for awhile I recon 4 or 5 grand will get me a nice one

hahaha how did u mange to rolle it my corollas broken down on me now getting it fixed tomora I'm have the worst luck with cars my last one was a lovley 1990 cressida and in a week the engine went so had to sell it at a loss and everthign pay people back so now I'm deat free and got find some car worth saving up for thats going to last me a long time iv gota save up still so i might find a dirfernt kind of car till then but right now i recon the ae101 sedans are pretty cool

I'm just wondering about the corolla AE101 sedan;s how much an early model one would cost and if they are none to have any problems?? or any othere information people have on them ?

OK car was running fine yesterday and i started it up today and it ran fine untill about 500m away from my house and now its doing it again and my cars stuck at work i can't even drive it i got a new fuel pump and every thing but it didnt fix it so i don't know whats going on

car was running like shit again last night even worst coz i didn't seal the gaskets when i toke it apart to clean it up so i needed to take my carby apart again and put gasket sealing on ever single gasket put it back to gather let it dry for a bit and then start it up and ran really good i then checked the timing and hade to adjust that to about 10* pass TDC it was at like 5* before and i can make it idle so low now so any one else that doesn't not know much in the future that has problem with there car hoping when ur going 100 on the highway not (ruff) idling, does not take off smooth ect it mite be something like this which will not cost a lot to fix 1st check ur timing (3k engine is around 8* to 10* pass TDC) 2nd take ur carby apart clean it with some carby cleaner or degreaser or something 3rd clean all the stuff off the surfaces where the gaskets go 4th get a rebuit kit gasket ket that will work don't us sealer it stuffs it right up , put the gaskets in and put it back to gather 5th let the gasket sealer set then put the carby back in and tune and take it for a run it should run and idle a lot better if u have the same problem as I had if that dosnt go to a mechanic or some one with mechanical experience

Whoa ur car must be pretty advance man HaHaHa my cars a 1972 it doesn't have one of them its only got 1 fuel line going to it and 1 vacuum hose I don't know how my car turns off but I'm guessing its something to do with the spark plugs I don't know what's WAS wrong with my car but I played with the spark plug leads and other power leads and it still ran like shit so I left it for 1hr and started it up again and it ran fine it started to run like shit last night after I finished thrashing the shit out of it, all the time I was trashing it the bloody chock was on so I turned that off and then it ran kept dieing it wouldn't idle but all fixed now and cleaned out the carby and now it runs beta then it did before when it was running alright

car running like shit wont idle ect i have to keep my foot down to keep the engine going i thought the carby was blocked so i toke it apart and cleaned it up it was a little rusty and corroded but i cleaned it and nothing was blocked ,put it all back together and back on it still wont idle right IT DRIVES ALRIGHT its just the it wont idle properly so went I take my foot off the peddle it runs like shit and same when I stop (sorry if this confuses any one its hard to put in words) it sounds like it idling good for a few seconds and does then it sounds like its going to die and idles really ruff then sounds good again then sounds like its going to die or does die I don't know if it's the carby or maybe fuel pump or something else I really don't know and I want to fix so it can run normal again :D

i just got this car coz my nice car (toyota cressida) engine is stuffed and i needed something to get around in so i don't have any money to get another car it only really started to smoke really bad when i put that stop smoke nulon stuff in it so i might do an oil change and filter and see if it still blows smoke bad while also was revving the shit out of the poor old engine trying to maybe blow that shit out or burn it all up but it didn't really work I toke it for a long run on the freeway today and it didn't smoke that bad after a little I was having a look in my engine bay at the alternator and I noticed a block of wood in-between the intake and the exhaust and in-between the starter motor and the alternator I couldn't get it out I have to remove the alternator to do so and I don't know what the block of wood is doing there its only sitting in there loosely With the alternator the charge light didn't come on today so (strange things these corollas one day something not working and the next day its fixed it self )

Yeah I might get a chain block what do I attach it to it and what not its chain block pulley thing ay I could always blot it up to car part roof, do u think it will hold?? If I bolt it up to the wood things under the plaster bored roof if not what do I get to hold the chain pulley block thing? Also should I just get another engine say like a 4k or a 5k and put new piston rings and all the other stuff and drop it in or would it not be worth it are they same engine mounts is it an easy job if any one knows ?? arhh also my alternator stopped working today the change light stays on does this mean my alternator is stuffed

yeah ill be honing it out and new value stem seals and every thing when i take the engine apart mmm i don't have an engine Crain how much do u think the 3k engine weigh u recon me and a couple mate would be lift it out by hand? if we take off the head and other stuff first?

y thank you so how would i do the piston rings do i take off the sump and the head unbolt the con rods from the crank and just slid (hit) them out with the engine still in the car then put em back in and blot every thing up them up oh yeah would any one know how to convert Ft/Lb into NM

i just really noticed that the smoke isn't really blue, there is some blue smoke in there but its like gray/white smoke that's poring out of the car like a smoke machine what could that be I just put a bottle of that stop smoke stuff in there so could it be that or the fuel or maybe a blow head gasket but I don't think its that the coolant hasn't goon down any

How hard would it be to put new pistion rings in 3k would i be able to do it with the engine still in the car my cars blowing a lot of smoke and using up a lot of oil latey so I'm guess its time for some new pistion rings get the head shaved and new head gasket and all that unless its somting eles? I'm just wondering with the 3k engine if I would be able to do this work with out taking the engine and if any one would know how much it would cost to get the head shaved and how much for the pistoin ring and head gasket seat ??

yeah i know i just read it sorry mm don't know if i told any one yet but when i got my rolla the body was straight as and then the next day i was going up my law (coz i was working on my car and at the time thats the only place i hade) and i didn’t want to run over my tool box so i slowly pulled over a bit and pulled up a bit ti close to the tree in my front law and scarped and dented the passenger door in :wink: it was so embarrassing the dick head across the road was standing out the front with his friend and the wankers just kept laughing at me i smashed the door with my hand and big dented in part come out but still i was very disappointed and embarrassed and it still doesn’t look the best either :y: :y: :y:

oh crap was it sorry i can't remember I'm still doped up from my operation anyway umm rims should i go look at a wreckers for some like pick a part or should i got to another one that pick a part seems pretty dodge mm just remember of something my ke55 seemed to handle a bit beta then my ke20 like it was lighter or something i can't put my finger on it maybe it was the sports seats or I just rember that the ke55 was I donno about beta just more easier
