  1. ok so now I'm not sure if i should use body filler or reofill on the outside of the car, purely the fact that reofill is a bitch to sand.
  2. ok so i decided to start on the smaller holes, for this i decided to use ReoFill (Fibreglass Reinforced body filler). i started of by using acetone to clean around the areas that i had cleaned with a file/sand paper and a wire brush. Once clean i covered the holes with masking tape on the outside(have photos if need be). once the tape was in place, i mixed the filler and applied it from inside the boot. this created a wall so that way when i want to fix up the outside so it looks nice, i can do so by having a supported structure across the back. i have uploaded some photos of how it looks from the outside after i pulled the tape of (this was about 2 hours later).
  3. i tried u-pull it and alot of other wreckers, but all the ke70's there have rust in the same spots. I'm still on the look out for some where in adelaide i can go cut it or buy the plate of some-one online who can do it for me. I'm just looking for $$$ effective idea's
  4. fair enough, but how would you go about making the lip for the seal on the arches?
  5. as you can see by one of the pics i have started to get it back to bare metal,i just wanted to get some ideas before i progressed to much more.
  6. i've got an arch welder, and how would you go about making the seal lip out of fibreglass?
  7. Hey guys, i have a ae71 spirit, which is in need of help from bad rust damage. i have uploaded some photo's of the rust. i roughly think i have an idea of what i am doing. i was planning on shaping the aluminium plate and using that as a base, to support the filler and help give it more strength. in need of some ideas, please feel free to helpcheers current Materials: Paint Stripper Sand Paper Body Filler 2mm Aluminium mesh/plate angle Grinder Drill(wire brushes) Files
  8. ok so i just rang up supercheap auto and they said they got a 4 piece kit thats on sale for $130 which is norm $170. so i am going to go and pick that up this afternoon on the way to work. also is it worth getting the water trap?
  9. rian i like your idea, can you recommend any other guns that i should buy and possibly where from? and also what would be the best compressor for the job?
  10. ok awesome, so i prob only only need 2L primer and 4L of the gloss. once car is primed, i will upload pictures and then also of the final result. i've completely stripped the interior and contemplating using suede as door trims as i have for parcel shelf already, resprayed dash so far and otherparts of interior. will upload photos shortly, due to camera being angry
  11. ok so i've decided what i am going to do, i will buy the SCA Paint Gun Set - 4 Piece Gravity Fed kit(air compressor if mine is to small) 3m paint stripper, prob 1L then 3M Primer Surfacer 4L then prob go 3M Acrylic Paint Gloss White 4L and finish with 3M Acrylic Paint Clear 4L. do you reckon 4L is to much?
  12. yeah i would prob say your compressor is a 2hp which is the same as mine, i saw a SCA Paint Gun Set - 4 Piece Kit, Gravity Feed which comes with the regulator, it says $169 on the website but i saw it for roughly $129 so ill prob use that and ask them if my compressor will cope, also with the paint, 3M Acrylic Paint Gloss White should do fine shouldnt it? and 3M Acrylic Paint Clear should be fine for top coat? i just wanna double check before i go buy it all
  13. how much was the compressor with regulator and guns roughly? coz i saw a 4 piece gravity fed spray kit for $119 the other day? or did you use a low pressure suction spray gun?
  14. i work at a powder coating place so i know how to paint, i just don't know the equipment needed to do so, if someone could list the type of compressor and guns you need that would be awesome, i do have a 2hp/20L compressor but doesnt have a valve to control pressure.
