Alright well I'm sourcing out the parts i need getting some general prices, I've also been doing alot of thinking and I'm generally interested in doing a tailight conversion from an r31 skyline. i'm pretty sure its never been done and so I'm most likely going to go through with it, although I'm worried that they might not fit so il have to get some dimensions etc but yeah. Thats something else to look out for guys. zachary

Yeah someone on skylinesaustralia told me to go to a wreckers and buy a pair that way i can put them up to the car aswell see if theres enough space. And i'm pretty sure if i have a proper bracket that its roadworthy, I'm unsure about the rewiring but thanks mate zachary

Okay well honestly i love the rear tailights on r31 skylines, and i was wondering if i could put them on my ke70, i know i need to cut a bigger whole maybe weld plates etc probably rewire etc but is it unroadworthy if i do ? it's just something different and I'm sure it hasn't been done before so I'm really interested, like really interested. any input would be really helpful ! zachary

I've noticed that there cheap, but honestly i don't have much of a clue how to swap the engines. i know its pretty straight forward and all but theres alot missing from my current engine id be pretty lost. yeah mate that'd be sick, i saw one on ebay go for $20 so il have to keep my eyes open, any help would be greatly appreciated. cheers

I don't even think the headunit works but if you ever feel like working on someones car theres always something to be done on mine :laff: haha.

Alright well i just spoke to the previous owner and now I'm really tempted to just sell the car, probably get more than what i paid at a wreckers. when i first got the car the owner told me he wasn't sure if the engine would start or not well turns out the reason why is because it needs new relays, needs vacuum hoses and one piston hasnt worked in 16 years. so now I'm stuck in a rut cause even i finnaly get the gearbox in its not gonna do me any good.

Yeah it sucks but in good time. haha mate i havent even started on my headunit and speakers, its got no speakers actually and the head units been wired by just twisting the wires over eachother. pics of the interior :

alright just an update, havent been able to work on the car really, especially with this shitty melbourne weather. Resprayed most of the interior looks pretty good :D i'l chuck some pics up when I'm on the computer also ive been sourcing out some corona LCA's pretty sure ive found a pair so you might be seeing them on my car soon also i might have found the parts i need for my manual box so the auto gearbox is no longer going on. Things i still need to do: - buy bog,sealant and paint. - remove rust, bog and paint it - put springs into the left side of my car - get side mirrors i know you guys want to see some interesting stuff like engine conversions and stuff but the funds are too low but it will happen eventually :)

that's perfect, i'l have to get some money together and go there some time this week hopefully. They should have the parts, if not theres some ke70s there so i probably get what i need for my gearbox and shit :D :D thanks heaps mate!

I've been calling asking if they have any coronas or ke55 or ke70 (ineed mirrors and other small things)just to see if they have any there, my parents refuse to take me somewhere if there isn't even that model car there :( I'm more than happy to take it apart myself :D i'l give those places a shot thanks alot! it's amazing the help you get on here.

okay well after reading all these posts, I'm pretty much sold on these corona lca's i spent all day ringing toyota wreckers in victoria and none of them have coronas or corollas of that age. And anyway i don't want to get ripped off by some asshole at a wreckers anyway so I'm starting to consider some adjustable camber tops for an ae86, don't suppose anyone knows where i could find some cheap ones ? The cars originally a manual, but when i got it the gearbox came as the box and the gears clutch etc were in a cardboard box, i still need a pedal box as i didnt recieve that. So I'm not quite sure what I'm missing or what i need, I'm gonna work on finding a set of those corona LCAs. :D thanks for the info about the respray i was sure it would be alot more expensive than that, maybe sooner than later it will look clean. cheers.

I'm on my phone that comment wasn't there just a second ago, thanks jackson i was heading towards the new bolts cause i figured over time it will work in my advantage, there are some on ebay for corollas but i wasn't sure if they will fit. Also what should i do about bolts for the actual gearbox to the car ! Can i just pull them off any old toyota ?

okay so if i remove the rust no matter what i have to paint ? I know that i have to respray the whole car eventually as it's multi coloured but that's not any time soon as funds are low so i just wanted to know. Also another question like that, um i've done this on my bmx bike, if you sand it down to raw (the silver colour) and put a real good sealent on it, it will have that raw look on it, will that work on my car like if i wanted to do that to my boot, or will it just rust after time ? Oh whoops, i didn't relise that it made a difference but now that i think about it its tottaly different thanks alot :D i know i sound like an idiot but i'm new to this so bare with me. Thanks again

hey everyone i just thougt as i'm getting so much help on here i might as well just ask all my questions. 1. Rust, a cars cancer. Is there a way i can remove the rust and seal it without having to repaint, my car sits out the front all day and night and has rust that's only going to get worse in this horrible melbourne weather. So just wanting to know if i can remove the rust (sand and bog) and seal it without painting. 2. Later model corolla parts. I have a good friend that works at the wreckers and there are alot of ae101's and later model rollas, so i was just wondering if it was worth getting the whole front set up (not engine or gearbox) but the brakes springs struts etc. Is it worth buying that or should i just buy new aftermarket parts for a more costly price ? 3. Manual box / flywheel. i have a manual gearbox at home, just 4speed but it hasn't got flywheel bolts or clutch bolts or any bolts actually i want to know if i should buy the bolts brand new off ebay, or should i buy a complete gearbox with everything included. Either way i know it will be similar in price so i was just wondering what way to go with that ANY help is greatly appreciated. Cheers zachary.

okay so i have to keep an eye out for the corona lower arms, is it a certain model corona or ? I'm new to the modifying scene and aren't too sure about what i'm doing. So could someone send me a photo of what I'm looking for ?

I know this is a noob question but do i need to get something to change the camber on my front wheels, like an adjustable camber set or can i just do it stock. Or is it easier to buy the front set up out of a later model corolla cheers.

Okay well, I;m currently in the process of trying to get my ksev to start, but it's currently got no gearbox in it and so it won't start. I have a manual box but it's in peices and i don;t have a pedal box for the car as the previous owner sold it. So i found an auto box which was given to me free, but i don't know if i have everything. And quite honestly i have no freakin idea how to put it in etc I know this may be a long shot, but it would be greatly appreciated if someone could please tell me what bolts/how many etc, what goes where, how to put it in etc. Just a detailed guide of what i need and how to put it in ! I'll get some photos up asap of what i have and how many bolts i have etc, i'm more than certain I'm missing bolts so it's really important someone tells me how many i need exactly. its a long shot i get it, but i really want the gearbox in so i can see if my stupid car will even start. ANYhelp is greatly appreciated. cheers zac.

yeah you'd be right, i posted his car on here when he first had it, i was selling it for him. But he sold alot of the things front end etc, so i figured it wouldnt sell and offered him a real low offer and he took it. Its in much better condition now than when he had it.

Got stuck into the car again today, just completely pulled apart the interior to respray most of the faded blue I'm thinking maybe il go with a blue black theme inside as some of the blue parts are still in good condition :hmm: Also cleaned out the engine bay to find so much dirt and other shit just fall out, and cleaned up the gearbox a bit.

haha its alright mate, i'm still missing a few things so i might have to come get more if you still got it :happy:

Just thought I'd upload some more photos now that the cars in cleaner condition, Got some front wheels today that fit so i could finally move the car out of my parents garage and give it a wash, it was as if the car hasn't been washed in years. Received an auto gearbox today as i don't have a pedal box for my manual. so hopefully the auto will go in soon and i can try start her up :laff:
