  1. Moving to melbourne now and this is up for sale as I'm not spending the money to take it across. The car is exactly the same as you see in these photos minus a section i cut out of the rear lower quater panel ( yet to be patched ).....comes with ae71 cross member that i picked up a while ago. who ever gets the closest to $300 can take it. Car is in Perth, not registered Cheers Christian
  2. indeed it is....I don't believe it to be completely unfixable. My welding skills are limited, but I'm willing to give it a bash. Like i said its unreg'd so I'm not really phased if it takes a while. But i hope to have the body fixed and painted mid next year. See how i go i guess
  3. Picked this bad boy up about 1 month ago as a bit of a side project along side getting my calais turbo wagon back on the road......its a 1983 KE70 Wagon, 4k, 4spd manual, 190,xxx kms on the clock. Doesn't blow smoke, lights work (sort of) and it drives pretty straight considering its age. This is basically going to be my car to learn rust repair, body prep and painting on. It's unrego'd so It doesnt really bother me long it takes to sort out. It has a decent amount of rust, but most of it I THINK i will be able to sort out.
  4. Yep should have mentioned I was after other options other than nolathane. Have used them in the past and have been less than impressed. have had better results with rubber, just having dramas sourcing gear for a wagon.
  5. Hey guys Have been searching around but havent found anything tha tells me what I'm after. I'm pretty sure the front end is exactly the same as th sedan, but I'm not sure on the wagon. Does anyone know what parts, if any, match up between sedan and wagon
  6. when you did your wagon, did you just spot weld as you were cutting it off / grinding it down and then go back and fill in the gaps?? C.
  7. Cheers for that guys....will just cut small sections and spot weld as i go. Christian
  8. Hey guys....new to the forum and new to owning the 83 wagon. The body has some rust in it and one spot is right underneath the drip rail. So the plan is to just remove them completely and smooth it down. my questions are, has anyone done this before? is the drip rail welded to the roof and body is the rail underneath the roof and welded as one? Wondering if i will need to back weld as i cut and smooth off these rails. Cheers guys Christian
