Yeah mate they are the same motor, the 4K-C just has a couple of extra vacuum lines and silly gadgets hanging off the intake manifold.

I told my engine builder what I was do and look what cam he put in.. (Attached in this thread). I have solids and prefer to stick with it but thanks for your recommendation re hydraulics... I called Tighe and they said 140 or 150A
I'm not sure about those cams, they run some pretty wild lift!
There is a pretty good thread on camshafts a few topics down:
http://www.rollaclub.com/board/topic/62114-4k-cam-grind-options/
My personal pick for your motor would be the Camtech 609 (or something similar like the tighe 424), more of a well rounded "balanced" cam.

Look if it doesn't work out they can build it out around Mount Glorious ... actually just transform that whole road into massive Nurburgring style track... ahhh sorry day dreaming and getting off topic, congrats bro, looking forward to driving the track when it's done.
P.S: here's an idea, get into Politics, sounds like you get stuff done!
But Mount Glorious/Nebo is already a massive Nurburgring style track! (You just have to go there in the middle of the night)

Sounds awesome mate!
What's your diff ratio? Seems pretty good.

I doubt a STD fuel pump would keep up with twins. I don't know 100% because I've never been game to try.
Just a FYI; the stock mechanical fuel pump has never been a problem on my hot 4k with twin 42's.

My mate has a 4k sierra which his wife drives, air filter is poking out of the bonnet. Must be a common problem

If you want to drive around in a matte black ke35, paint it matte black!
If you want to drive around in factory red with-a-few-touchups ke35, touch it up!
If you don't want to drive around in a ke35 at all, sell it!

Club4ag has a good write up on carbing a 4age:

These guys are usally pretty good with there jetting.
1:vacuum leaks,check again.
2:fuel pressure test with a gauge. These things are very tempermental.
3:float level
4:just check the idle jet size,as the idle jets work up to 2-3000rpm,or close to.

Vacuum leaks usually make it very hard to hold an idle but when you open the throttle it will rev fine, He says he has the opposite problem. Float level is a real possibility along with incorrect jets.
Can you describe in greater detail what happens when you open the throttle too fast?
If it stalls a little at low rpm, struggles and then climbs its probably too rich.
If it quickly climbs a little but then cuts off at higher rpm then it is probably too lean.
Since it revs fine when you open the throttle slowly i think it is jetted incorrectly and perhaps you should take philbeys advice.

Is the motor currently running or is it still dismantled?
