  1. Um it's kinda hard to narrow it down to one specific thing as I changed heaps of things at once but I got it to start and idle and was running real rough so I set my fuel pressure to 36psi then I replaced the spark plugs with new ones and started it again it was still running real rough so I adjusted the dizzy till it ran smooth and now it's fine! It's idling pretty high around 1700rpm but I'm gonna set the idle speed tomorrow and I'll go over the timing with a timing gun to get it 100%
  2. Cool thanks for that ill set my fuel pressue reg to that any ideas as to what's makeing my car run like a bucket of crap?
  3. Yeah I checked those to the mark on the crank sprocket lined up with its notch on the block part still got no idea what's wrong with it tho! I'm from melboure too, On a separate note what is the stock fuel pressure for a 16v big port around the 40psi mark?
  4. Update!! Okay so I put everything back together on my car and I installed an adjustable fuel pressure regulator with a gauge on it as I was told my issue of not idling could be a low fuel press issue! Put everything back and the car would turn over fine! But just it was like I was getting no spark i then managed to get the car to start and idle and it hold it's idle fine however it sounds like a tractor! I've tried two different map sensors and no luck there!! I checked my timing marks I set #1 piston to TDC and everything seems to line up okay but if someone can confirm that I've got everything set correctly that would be great thanks! Or if anyone has any ideas as to what's wrong with it now that would be good also!
  5. Oh okay it's carb/throttle body cleaner I think it seems to make it start when I spray it in the t/body but then stalls there after! I'm in the process of takeing the intake manifold off to check all the TVIS stuff and lines I took the injectors out and there was fuel in the rail so I no the pump is working
  6. So I managed to keep it from stalling for a bit I held the throttle open a tad and sprayed carby cleaner in there but as soon as I stopped it stalled any ideas?
  7. Well I was using a fuel filter from a tx5 telstar drive one as a daily and I had a spare one I never used so I put it in the corolla and I had drivin the car with it on there but I changed it anyway I pulled off the t/body and made sure it was real clean and sealed it back up and still nothing, And I've made sure my timing is 100% right and everything is how it was the time I drove it but I've replaced almost every part of the ignition system since and sill nothing The other week I could keep it running by hitting the throttle but not for long! I don't no to much about the electrics of the car I had a mates dad help me with install the loom in the car and get it running he worked out the whole fuel pump relay thing for me so I'm not to sure now if it's right but the car was running fine!
  8. I just tried a new fuel filter and nothing!!! I've sprayed carby/t-body cleaner all up in that bitch and nothing it does start but not for long and then goes back to doing what it's been doing starting for a second then stalling! Any ideas please?
  9. Oh I'm not useing the standard one would that have any thing to do with it?
  10. Yeah I don't care what it costs It just seems to simple to be the fuel filter but ill give it a go and see!
  11. Really sounds to simple is there a way to check if its okay?
  12. Lol.... So I put everything back together today and started it up it was idleing at around 2,000 rpm and everything sounded fine but it stalled again and is now doing the exact same thing as befor!! I don't get it I replaced the spark plugs and still nothing!! Any ideas please? Or does someone wanna come have a look at it for me?
  13. I never would of thought that!! Petrol could be the problem so Drained the tank completely and put fresh petroulm distillate in there and everything is working fine now! I've just gotta fine tune the timing and idol speed and it should be good to go! Thanks heaps!! Oh does any one no where I can get a replacement o ring for the distributor not the one on the shaft the large thin one that goes between the distributor and the cap!
  14. Ill try putting new fuel in it should I completely drain the tank? Befor I do it or just top up what I've got? Ill also try unplugging the TPS and MAP and see what happens then and ill be able to give a better description of what revs I have when I get home, On a separate note does the map sensor have to get power from the ecu or can it get power from a separate source like some thing from accessorys power?
