  1. That's a lot of info altezzaclub and I appreciate it. Does anyone know the max head shave you can do for clearece? and the amount you gain per say .05? I have the weber carb, what HP range is that good for? And for spartk control I want MSD 6AL I'm thinking about a 60 shot of nos that's not unreasonable is it? Updated parts list for my personal build
  2. That makes sense. So far the only wire going to the positive on the coil is a light brown. I have black going to - I will look for a broken blue/white wire or red wire, in the area to put on the positive of the coil. I really appreciate the diagram, but the resolutuion is far to small. Can you upload one of higher resolution? The temptation of almost having that is killing me HAHA!

  4. Who makes a good 3tc cam? How much can you shave the Pushrod Head? Whats the compression increase? Since FI might be temporarily out of my budget, I think I have the 32/36 weber carb. For some reason can't ulpload pics, But it does say Weber and its different then my friends stock unit. Whats the next step after that carb? BTW straight pipes with 4-1 header. Will upload the main post with all ideas. I don't know why I just can't find parts for this engine!
  5. What can I do to a pushrod head that will help performance an how much would I expect to gain? How about adding FI? VS DOHC + FI? Id like a Definite All motor+NOS Maybe high revving? When I bought the car my friend/ex owner put weisco 8.5-1 pistons.. How can I get that up without going into the block.. Would like a head up performance build.
  6. Also forgot to mention new this car had a/c and p/s The last owner wanted to make it a "race car" and took off Smog, A/c, ans PS. I also am not sure if these cam stock with an electric fan but thats there also. Now I can feel that 70 HP.. Pretty much just saying I have connectors all over the place and don't hell even a few open wires... is there a connector location guide or some way to find out where its from or where it goes?
  7. Hellc all I just bought a 82 sr-5 coupe with a 3tc engine. I went to upgrade my alternator. and ended up burning the wiring from alternator, to battery, to fuse box and everywhere in between. I have it wired up based off the original wiring so I know thats good, I just don't know how much burnet from the fire.. It literally s burnt up to the fuse box... Can it burn inside? will it ruin it? I hear these cars have fuse box problems anyways but I don't know if a deep cleaning and wire changing will work, or if it has to be replaced. I'm looking everywhere for one, but I think the reason I can't find it is because I'm looking up just corolla. What other cars take this item? Ill even use something close and eliminate and replace wires What blown fuses would cause the alternator not to read? Anybody know a site where you can find out what other car parts match mine. Where can I get an online engine wiring diagram? Everything I find is scanned without a color or letter key New thing that stopped working was my ignitor.. Kinda odd, If I manually power the coil I will start NO PROBLEM Now these things are 180+ What aftermarket options would I have.. MSD? I would need the Dizzy, and coil? OR Module also? Any other good brands? Also I heard advancing timing to get the most out of it you can increase the spark plug gap. Don't have a number, but was at 2/5th toward retard when bought.. Did maint, Threw in premium and got it at 7/8Ths advance. Current gap is stock. Should I double my gap? Or a 50% Addition?
  8. I would like too, but That would be somthing I need to pull the engine and have the car off the road to get it right. I get each weekend, so until I get another 3t to keep one in constantly, but then at that rate Id want a better engine.. So I just want to keep it simple with bolt ons, Any advice on swapped heads? What about carbs? I don't want side draft.
  9. I just bought a 82 corolla with a 3tc in it. Of course I want to be able to get it sideways, so what are some performance upgrades I can put on without getting down to removing the engine..Pretty much a head up build. Also I do not want to go turbo.. maybe Alcohol injection for the track.. this is a daily driver so reliability is a must, so I don't want to go to drastic Does the 3t turbo EFI system bolt right on? How do I go about tuning it? Any other T series parts I can put on for horsepower? I seen theres a 3te(I think thats it) that runs on efi, since I'm not going turbo would that be better? Also heared the head on that engine has a smaller combustion chamber = more compression.. good move? or the DOHC head from gte? Heres a list of parts recommended so far. Headers + Exhaust Webber 32/36 carb MSD 6AL NOS ( I heard this engine is indestructible anyone know a shot range?) Rebuild Head ( +shave for compression,for max performance) Camshaft Will update this list with part locations, and other good te72 sites
