if problem with car shutting off randomly when driving highway speeds check voltage regulator
also check ignition coils
common rust areas
1. Boot Lip
2. Quater panels
3. Bottom of doors
4. Wheel arches
5. Roof areas
6. Around Front and Rear Windows
Suspension
ae86 rear suspension plug and play
front requires wheel hub assembly and calipers/rotors off of an ae86 if you want to swap
to ae86 coilover with spindle
non spindle requires welding and seems sketchy plus conversion gets you vented rotors and better brakes all together
rear adjustable panhard bar reccomened to adjust the rear as it shifts when lowering to one side passenger side i beleive
transmission A/T 3 speed a41 transmission used in these corollas and starlets
great info for rebuild and repairs https://procarmanuals.com/pdf-online-toyota-a40-a41-a43d-a43de-aw70-aw71-atsg-automatic-transmission-service-group-3/
if your trans randomly kicks down a gear the cause is a failed kickdown solenoid inside the transmission. The solenoid gradually over time fails mechanically and as a result the transmission will randomly drop back to second gear.
