gday all I'm a newb. i own a 1997 sedan 7afe powered corolla. the motor has blown a couple of piston rings so ive decided to throw it out and install a 20v black top, or silver top. I'm leaning towards black top due to the intake size being map and not afm. I'm intending on using my stock gear box as i recently had it rebuilt. I'm buying the motor from sss automotive, is their anything i need to know or to be warned about before i buy the motor, if all goes well I'm off to buy it in 2 weeks time due to work commitments on the weknds. is it true that the gear box off my 7afe will match up to a blacktop motor? which motor is stronger concidering i rev it hard on the weknds? i planed on having the motor stripped and rebuilt before going into my car using most likely a stock toyota rebuild kit and all appropriate gaskets and seals to match. is their a 4age specialist in sydney or someone that could be recomended. atm ive been talking to a guy who doing alot of high performance supra motors and nissan sr and rb gear. id prefure to get this job done properly the first time and not to have any headaches from the conversion. any help would be greatly appreciated.
