  1. nope, no black plug. ive got a yellow single-pin plug spare - don't know what its for. ive also got a yellow 2-pin plug spare - it had an adaptor plug with a fuse in it (both of these plugs are on the dizzy end of the loom). the single pin plug isn't for the O2 sensor either, but the plug is connected to the O2 pin on the ecu. this is pretty much a bare engine loom, no fuse boxes or anything. cheers
  2. ive got a 4age bluetop converted from fwd to rwd in my ke35. I'm using an ae86 ECU and also an ae86 loom and need to get some fault codes out. how do i go about this? ive been told you can't get fault codes with an ae86 loom...is this true? if not, what do i have to do to get them???!?
  3. thanks for your help. got it sorted now anyway...
  4. umm no sorry, don't know what you mean :D theres lots of little silver boxes under my dash. are you talking about on the 3K loom? if so, where abouts on the loom? under the dash by the ignition/fuse box? in the engine bay? what other wires go to it that I might be able to identify?
  5. what exactly is the ignition module you're reffering to? just the negative wire from the ke35 coil or do you mean something different?
  6. ive put a 4age into my ke35, how should i wire the ignition up? the same as a standard 4age should be like in this diagram? or will it need to be wired differently to accomodate the ke35 ignition too?
  7. does anyone have the wiring diagram for the ignition/coil for a 1975 ke35. basically ive got 4 wires which i thought all went to the coil - 2 negative and 2 positive. ive put a 4age in and put a multimeter on the wires and checked them, put the appropriate ones onto the terminals of the 4age coil then checked the dash and all the lights were on (with the key off). so i took one of the wires off the negative terminal and it sparked, so i took it off and put a multimeter on it and there was nothing when i earthed it (the multimeter) to the body or engine manifold, but when i earthed it to the ignitor/coil bracket there was about 4volts going through it. so pretty much I'm a bit confused with what wires are what now and hoping someone or a diagram can tell me which of these 4 wires from the ignition should go where.
  8. Its a Factory AW11 MR2 item (Redtop 4AGE) mines bluetop - thats why it'll be different.
  9. ive put a 4age bluetop in mine. what i done was drilled the old mounts off the 3K crossmember, then fabricated some new mounts to suit the engine mounts and welded them on to the crossmember. where abouts are you based? this is an aussie forum isnt it?! I'm in new zealand but i can email you some more info and pics on the conversion if you like. not sure if the same rules would apply here and in aussie as far as certification goes though. like to pass certs the sump has to sit 12mm (i think) above the xmember etc and that sorta stuff. get in touch with me at [email protected] if you want.
  10. can anyone tell me what the yellow plug in the bottom of this pic is for/where it goes to? ive been told it might go to a fusebox or relay box or something - does anyone know for sure? i traced one of the wires from the ignitor to this plug, the other two plugs to the ECU, and the 4th plug goes to some sort of plug which has a fuse plugged into the end. is the wire that goes to the plug in this pic just for a power wire or something more complicated? i can't see anywhere that this plug goes in to so just wondering if i can wire it somewhere else - depending on what it is.
  11. found out tonight that the yellow plug i had connected to the coil/ignitor IS for air/con or something - definatly not the coil/ignitor anyway. i stripped another loom off a different model (newer i think) 4age back and found the right 4-pin green plug that i need. i don't know exactly what my engine is out of, and i don't know exactly what my loom is off (not much chance of finding out either unless you can tell from looking at the actual loom). all i know is its a bluetop engine, with what i think is a rwd loom, its gone into a ke35 and i don't have any spark from the coil when i plug the air-con plug in :D Medicine_Man, yes that helps. can you upload a different angle of your coil/ignitor? do you know what is the 2-pin green plug is for exactly? looks in that photo as if its just a terminal screwed onto the top of the ignitor or something? and the plug for the dizzy is one of the yellow ones on the right of the pic - thats all sweet.
  12. yes you can get an LSD for corollas, depending on what its out of (hilux etc) you may need to get it shortened. ive heard diffs out of ae85s and ae86s fit in without being shortened, just need to change the mounts which isnt too much trouble. not all of them are LSDs though, and when you do find one you pay good money for them. ive got an ae85 LSD waiting to be put into me ke35 (ive just done a 4age conversion on it myself) so I'm yet to find out for sure if they fit in without being shortened or not.
  13. posted this message on toyspeed but haven't solved much there so thought ill try here. heres a link to that thread so you don't end up asking the same questions. http://forums.toyspeed.org.nz/viewtopic.php?t=29092 ...heres my original thread. got a problem wiring my ignitor up... the green plug off the coil/ignitor pack (in the top left) plugs into the yellow plug i have arrowed. thats all sweet but where is the smaller green two pin plug (in the box) supposed to go? from looking at wiring diagrams it seems that it goes to the ignitor aswell but i only got one plug coming from the ignitor. so...do i have the wrong ignitor? (its off a 1985 ae82 fxgt - i don't know the exact model of my engine or what the loom is off) I'm thinking that could be part of the problem as the plug colours don't match - then again ive never seen a coil with a yellow plug. or is there another way around it? can i just cut the plug off and rewire it to the coil or something? any help would be appreciated. cheers
