rear water jet hose? now that sounsd interesting, where would the start of the hose be? can you see it from the engine bay? because from memory, i think i can only see the front water jet hose.

its like this, i leave the car overnight, and then in the morning as soon as i get in the car, it starts to drip down only for abit, and then it stops. But as i said before, the wierd thing is that sometimes there is water there in the morning even if it hasn't rained. nothing drips when i am driving.. i also unscrewed the plastic bit underneath the steering column and see if i could get a better view but i couldn't see any pipes of any sort. so yea...........

hey guys, so here is an update of my problem. my mechanic friend had a look at it and couldn't seem to find the source of the leak, we took a hose and blasted the windsheild with water for a good minute or so just to see if we could identify where the leak was originating from...... we had no luck..... it water was to be seen. the next day, I've pulled apart the water grill which sits under the wipers and did a water test, pouring water and trying to see where it went.... once again no water to be found in the peddles.... its been raining here (NSW) for over 1 week straight now and for some reason, somedays there is water leaking and other days nothing..... how wierd... (keeping in mind, when i say leak, its not a constant leak... it drips for about a minute or so as i get in the car, then it stops for the entire ride/day) so pretty much I am all out for ideas on fixing this REALLY ANNOYING problem... I also hear that it could be something to do with condensation regarding the aircon ??? I'm in dying need of help.... anyone else have any ideas???? thanks guys..

Hey guys, recently I have been getting water in my car (91 corolla) and its dripping where the peddles (clutch, brake and accel) are located, but I can't seem to locate where exactly the leak is originating from. Specifically it happens on rainy days. so I just wanted to ask, is this a common problem? does anyone else have the same problem and how did you fix it? I asked a mate and he said it could be a leak from the windshield? any ideas and opinions/solutions would be much appriciated! regards, D

yea their chrome, however the leak seems to be coming from the inside layer of the rim, not the outside, if you know what I mean.
-
yea maybe its a hairline crack, because the rim has been repaired before, would anyone happen to know how much it would cost to repair something like that?
-
thanks for the advice

its just that i've been trying every possible position and adjustments to the rods, yet they still don't work, and if they do work its only good for acouple of days until they play up again...... i just thought that there was a specific way that the motors had to be positioned. but i much aprreciate your input, i guess its back to fiddling around and testing to get the right angle. if anyone out there has a photo and can show me what its meant to look like, that would be awesome!
-
"The screws solenoids (motors) might be loose or you might have to re-position them so that the rods are more in line with where they connect to the door locks." i think that's my problem, as i don't know how to position the motors, i mean do the motors have to be in a specific position? or they can be in any position and you just have to mould the rods so that it would fit?

thanks buddy, do you know any good tyre fitters around? I'm located in sydney metro.

Hi Guys, just wondering if someone could steer me in the right direction. I have a 91 corolla which has an aftermarket alarm system on it however sometime which when i press the central locking button, some doors won"t lock and vice versa, won't open. This problem is occuring specifically on my 2 rear doors. is there a specific method that you have to position the motors? vertical? horizontal? because this is driving me insane!! no matter what i do, the motors work however the doors are not locking/unlocking. Thus i was wondering if there was a tutorial which advises exactly how the motors are suppose to be positioned and hooked up. any help or advise would be great!!!! thankyou very much!

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone else has or had the same problem. Issue: over a year ago i bought a 91 GTi corolla with 17" vault rims with new tyres, current size with tyres are 205/40/17. The tyres weren't that great as they were some china brand which didn't last very long, they started to crack around the rubber and lead to air escaping. I then changed 2 of the tyres (back pair) for a set of falkens, which was only about 2 weeks ago, and now on one of the tyres, it keeps getting flat. The other one is fine, so i took it back to the shop and they said that i have a leak in my rim, which they tested by putting it in a bathtub full of water and showed me the where the air bubbles were escaping from. They said that they rim was previously damaged (maybe by the previous owner) and that they'll try and put a sealer on it and that should fix the problem. Hence my luck, the problem was reoccuring. It takes about 2 to 3 days for the tyre to be flat. so i called them again and told them that the sealer didn't work, they advised me that it was my rim and that it needs repairing, which can cost about $70 to $120 depending on the damage, and i also said that how come the problem wasn't their with my old tyre? well they said that it was because the old tyre was already sealed. I'm thinking to myself, isn't that the same thing????? go figure. but anyways, i just wanted top put it out there and wanted to see what people think and if you ever had the same problem? what did you do and how did you fix it? i mean could it be the tyre being faulty?? or do i actually have a damaged rim which needs repairing???? any advice or recommendation on mag wheel repair places would be much appreciated!! thanks guys....

yea fair enough, if rolling the gaurds is not going to fix the problem then there is no point doing it........ ..... my insurance company are fully aware of the condition of my car, lowered, 17" etc. what to do ... what to do...... i guess at this stage i'll just take it to acouple of mechanics and see what they have to say.... thanks for all your input guys, much appreciated!
-
what about getting the guards rolled? so i have heard? do you know ruffly how much this would cost and if it would help? i think it would make the car look better, however don't know if it has any other issues that comes along with it.
-
fairfield, sydney....... so what do you think the most viable solution for me would be?
-
i would love to it it myself, however wouldn't know where to start unless there was specific tutorial that shows. Apologies for sounding like an idiot but can you explain to me what all this means? "You'll probably need spring compressors, 19mm socket, 17mm socket, and maybe a rattle gun if the shock nut doesn't want to come undone. 1 trick is to crack them before you put the car on stands." so are you sayin i just need new springs?
-
its the same size tyre, 205, 40, 17. and your right 1400, is way too rich for me, hopefully i don't have to resort to forking out that kind of money, therefore I'm up for any suggestions you guys might have.

Hi Guys, just wanted to get your input on a problem that i have. I have a 91 GTi corrolla, with 17" vault rims and recently i had to change the 2 front tyres. Ever since the new tyres were fitted, i noticed that everytime i go over a speed hump or pot hot, even small ones, the tyres actually scrap against the inside of the guards which is annoying. It happened even before i got the new tyres but more frequent with these new tyres. I bought the car last year second hand and I'm pretty certain that it has been lowered, don't know if it was properly lowered or the springs were cut. Therefore i just wanted to get your opinion on the possible causes and solutions. I think its got to do something with the shocks or springs, I'm pretty much a newb to all this, i called pedders and they quoted me $1400!!!! for the replacement of the 4 shocks..... any ideas or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks guys!

i just tried grounding the lights separately as well still nothing. and i can confirm that the ground cables from the fog lights which goes back to the relay does work.
-
unless they are both power cables? for 4 lights? thats all i can think of.
-
but there are main cables running from the relay which i am pretty sure ar for the fog lights and every cable has 2 mini cables which are for each fog light. power and earth. how can i earth the fog lights when they are already connected to the relay? regards, D
-
hi guys, I finally got around to installing my fog lights on my 91 corolla, however I have a dilema. After following all your instructions, btw thanks to all, it still does not work. I bought a fog light wiring kit which includes the fuse and relay and this is what I did, please correct me if there are an parts which seems to be incorrect that might be the solution to my problem. 1. i mounted the relay and fuse in my engine bay and connected the fog lights. The relay has both the power and earth cables for the fog lights running directly from the relay. 2. i connected relay earth cable to battery (negative). 3. i connected relay power cable connected via fuse to battery (positive). 4. i then tried connecting the extra wire both to my normal head lights and high beam just to test to see if it is working. and just my luck, nothing works. HOWEVER, i can hear the relay working when i press the on/off switch, meaning there is power going into the relay but still nothing from the fog lights. i checked to see if the fog light bulb is busted, but all looks fine. I wanted to make sure by testing it out. i connected the fog lights directly to the battery, positive cable to positive terminal, negative cable to negative terminal, still nothing. is this an effective method of testing the light to see if it works?. anyways, i am all out of ideas atm, if anyone out there has any suggestions, please no matter how silly or strange, i am willing to give it a go, i am that desperate to get it up and running. Thankyou in advance for your help and time reading this thread. best regards. D

Hi all, does anyone know of a link or have some information of the speedo variation from actual speed to the speed shown on the speedometre when upgrading your rim size? i currently have 17'' rims on my 91 corolla and would like to know approximately how much the speedo is out by? i think i speak for us all when i say, i do not want to be done by a speed camera. any help would be great! thanks in advance

Hi fellow rollas, just wanted to know if anyone else out there is having the same problem i have. I just bought a 91 GTicorolla with 17' vault rims and everytime i go approximately over 70km/ph the steering wheel shakes and it gets worst the faster i go. Normal driving speed 60 km/ph, everything seems fine. I'm not sure if its the rim size or tyres not being balanced properly? or something to do with the axels (loose joints maybe?) does anyone know what that is all about or is having/had the same problem? and how i can fix it? any advice would be greatful!
