  1. I had the cam cover off while I was doing the timing belt. When I was putting it back on I over torqued the left most acorn nut and snapped off the top part that the acorn nut screwed on to. I'm assuming the long metal rod unscrews from the head but where would I find another one?
  2. Thanks guy, that's great news. I'm new to these engines so is there anything else I should be changing when i do the belt? The engine's done about 300,000km.
  3. Hi All, I own a 1989 Holden Nova with the 4AFC engine. Yes, I realise it's not a corolla but I figure it's only a few badges and some glue away from it so... Are you willing to help out a poor rolla wannabe? I was recently driving along, not a care in the world, when all of a sudden the engine completely died. I got the car towed home and sure enough, the timing belt was gone. So my question is this, is the 4AFC an interference or a non-interference engine? In other words, will I just have to replace the belt or is it a head off job? Thanks guys!
