  1. Hi guys i really need some help. I have a Toyota Corolla SECA AE92 - With the 4A-FC Engine in it. For a while now it has been playing up, it has a really erratic idle it sounds like its missing a beat constantly and when its driven it pings a lot. There is a chance that the fuel could be the cause of the pinging. But ill get to that part later, i just really want to know how to fix this problem. I have looked over the engine and There is a small valve (Called the: BVSV - Bimetal Vacuum Switching Valve) underneath the distributor which we found to be broken, we replaced it and the engine when its started runs pretty smooth, once the engine gets to normal operating temp it runs really erratically and has tons of trouble decelerating the RPM. When you watch the Tacho, the needle is not steady, its going up and down and will only stay still when the engine is first started. The only problems that occur while driving is the pinging sound, other than that there is nothing wrong. PLEASE HELP ME GUYS!! :bash:
  2. hey guys gotta question.. recently i heard from a mate that putting a sports exhaust on the AE92 4A-FC engine, reduces the output power.. I'm wondering if this is true or not
  3. Hey all Just a few questions regarding the timing on a 4A-FC engine. :) If i was to change the timing, how much would i have to advance or retard the the timing? if i advance it will i get more acceleration? and if i retard it what will it do? any benefits or no benefits from doing any of these?
  4. lol haha ok.. so removing the cat wont make much difference??
  5. hi guys. i have a Toyota Corolla SECA CS-X 1990 with the 4A-F carbed engine. Just recently i found video of this cars exhaust. The guy that installed the performance exhaust on the SECA claims that: "The engine wasn't designed to have a cat in the exhaust system, so it gains about 15 horsepower(I am not making that shit up). The power gain after removing it was ridiculous." I'm wondering if this is true before i do any exhaust upgrades. Is it illegal in QLD to not have a catalytic converter?
  6. NO LONGER USE THIS ACCOUNT. PLZ DELETE POST
  7. Hi all. i have a question. i have a Toyota Corolla 1990 CS-X (AE92, 4A-F). I'm looking to find the original spoiler for this corolla series. I have attached a picture to show everyone what i mean. If anyone knows where i would be able to find one like this, please let me know. Daniel
  8. Thanks mate :hmm:. Do you rekon you could get a video of the sound it makes? By the way what did you use to plug up the Air Suction Valve hole?
  9. What steps did you go through to install yours?
  10. Hey all. I'm new here. I have a few questions about what i can and can't do to a Toyota Corolla SECA AE92, with a 4A-FC engine. Firstly I'm wondering if it is possible to install a pod filter into it? What can i do, that dosn't cost too much money to increase the performance? Daniel
