  1. na no other pics sorry. it's an a.s.k. engineering airbox for an ida. he used to make bits and pieces for rotaries, search him on ausrotay and you should be able to find more info.

you could make one fairly easily just use the bottom of the k&n filter as a template and make an alloy box with a couple of 3'' holes for air feed.

  2. one of these will help with your noise problems. http://www.atpturbo.com/mm5/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=GRT-TBO-055&Category_Code=GTB

as for the induction noise have a read of this thread http://www.ausrotary.com/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=196196&hilit=cold+air+induction

I Had an aspirated 13bbp with 51ida in mine before i went turbo. i ran the big k&n filter and it was pretty noisy so i tried an a.s.k. airbox with finer filter socks on the trumpets and it made it run like shit. tried it with and without the socks and it came down to the socks being the problem. personaly i'd mod an airbox and run a k&n or simila filter and give it a feed from the cowl and front.

this is my old setup with the airbox and cold feeds. It still had huge induction noise though.

  3. Wasn't sure where to put this but i will be getting some bump steer eliminators machined up for my ke55 because knowone seems to make them for ke30-55.

just wondering if anyone would be keen on a set because it will be easy to make an extra 5-10 extra sets. they will be made out of aluminium and be about 35mm thick and will come with h/t bolts and spring washers. cost will be around $100 a set.

  4. Thanks for clarifying that up. Sounds like we use the same oil. Time to go top up the oil I think.

Do you remember some bloke chatting to you in the bottle shop drive through in G'Town about 18 months ago? That was me anyway. I was there for Dans wedding. I think i meantioned my car as we were chatting about your beast. You have the best sounding/angriest rotor ever buddy.

If its not already nominated, i'm adding you to the list for Car of the Year.

Ha ha thanks mate. yeah i remember you. Never ended up taking you for that spin did i. next time your down give me a buzz and i'll get i'll take you for a lap, think Dan might have my number.

  5. I always run mine at 200:1 so 100ml to every 20 liters and i use stihl 2 stroke which is made by castrol and is designed for high reving two strokes. it burns realy clean and my car doesn't smoke at all and it's about $40 for 4 liters. i used to run castrol r30 which is a castor based oil which smells nice but seems to carbon everything up and it's about 20 per liter so doesn't last long.

  6. i used sikaflex, cause its polyurethane it allows more movement.

but i can see the point to using liquid nails.

just use something strongly sticky, and stack some heavy books, blocks, bricks on top for a day to make sure its hard down and you will be right :abuse:

thats a bad idea. if your filling the gap between the bonnet and boot bracing don't put weight on the skin to close the gap between the two. it will be all warped and f@$ked once dry.

  7. I'm chasing a pair of original ke30-55 strut tube nuts. the ones with hexigon top that holds the shockies in. reason being they have a different bore diameter to aftermarket ones and will suit the shocks i'm using. They must have good thread tho.

    Cheers..
