I don't see how it could be a head gasket, as we have already removed and reconditioned the head. Maybe you're un-aware, but any mechanic worth 2 cents will replace the head gasket when a head is re-co'd. THIS mechanic happens to be my best mate :lolcry: so i know everything he could possibly do, was done right. the oil came BACK into the coolant about 6 months after we did the head, so thats what makes us believe its the block.
MYSTIK 2. Good to know about the fuel lines, thanks. I'm not really chasing the extra power neccesarily. I just assume that the 1.6L might be easier to get a hold of from a wrecker due to the 1.4L's UN-popularity.
I am really interested to know if the engine mounts on a 1.6L will be the same as the 1.4L, and if they'll need modifying to make it fit. Can you shed any light?
