  1. Thanks for the reply's guys... SamQ 1. engine management?? LOL u mean "my right foot" haha I don't see how it could be a head gasket, as we have already removed and reconditioned the head. Maybe you're un-aware, but any mechanic worth 2 cents will replace the head gasket when a head is re-co'd. THIS mechanic happens to be my best mate :lolcry: so i know everything he could possibly do, was done right. the oil came BACK into the coolant about 6 months after we did the head, so thats what makes us believe its the block. MYSTIK 2. Good to know about the fuel lines, thanks. I'm not really chasing the extra power neccesarily. I just assume that the 1.6L might be easier to get a hold of from a wrecker due to the 1.4L's UN-popularity. I am really interested to know if the engine mounts on a 1.6L will be the same as the 1.4L, and if they'll need modifying to make it fit. Can you shed any light? Cheers Anthony
  2. Hey Guys, I'm new to RollaClub, so please don't flame me if this has been asked before. I did use the Search but didn't come up with much relevant info. I currently have an 1990 AE90 SE hatch with the OEM 6AF 1.4L carby motor. The 1.4 is leaking oil into my cooling system, and I've already had the head reconditioned and tested. The 'head reco guys' said that the problem wasn't there. This leads me & my mechanic to thinking that the leak is in the block. I want to know if anyone has transplanted a 1.6L 4AF carby motor into a Rolla with a 1.4L, and what kind of problems I could expect to come across when doing the transplant. If its too much trouble to swap to the 1.6L I will simply track down a 1.4 and stick it in there. However, I would much rather those extra cubic inches :worship::) Thanks in advance for your help Anthony
