A Couple Of Law-related Questions

Hmmm, weird. I thought it was something else... Thanks Hiro Protagonist. I'll be giving Legal Aid a call to confirm the questions on Monday. -
A Couple Of Law-related Questions
PorkoWog replied to PorkoWog's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
Thought so, thanks a lot for the reply Taz_Rx. -
Hey people, just wanted to ask some law-related questions. Once you have been to court and have been given your decision (I got a two year suspension), how long do I have till I can appeal my case? How do I go about appealing? Also, with the NSW rule saying that you can have only one passenger in the vehicle after 11 pm for a P1 driver, I heard that you can have more people in the car so long as they are 21 and over. So if you are a P1 driver, and have one 18 year old and three 21 year olds, you cannot be fined due to the curfew. Is this true? Hope to have these answered soon, thanks everyone! :y:

Oh shit, I meant 4age (I have no idea why I wrote 7age). I'll edit the post after this one. And that's a definite thing to look forward to first; getting my actual license. But planning is good too. :no2: Thanks for the tips once again 200Boy; what do you reckon about a cannon or a dumpy?
-
Hey, I wouldn't go that far! Commodores are mad cars. I've only ever driven Holdens, and my parents Toyota Prado and my girlfriends Nissan Pulsar. But thanks for the tip. :)

Thanks for your posts guys, I will make sure to keep your ideas in mind when getting the car. I just wanna take things one step at a time. First thing I need to do is actually get my license back, but other then that I wanted to do my research before getting it back. Oh and corolla_nut, I am definitely the type of person that takes care of his car; I pay a lot of attention to detail and everything has a spot for it to be placed in. Air conditioning, mechanicals and aesthetics will all be taken care of as much as I can. So far I am thinking of getting the SX 4age, as that is what most of you have suggested and what most of you are commenting on. My cousin came over today (he used to own an SX also, 4age) and told me that he loved the car and it was perfect. He started with the smaller engine beforehand but then installed the 4age afterwards and loved it; had no problems at all with it. If and when I do get the car, these are the modifications I am thinking about getting: Exhaust system (unknown size; please recommend) Sound system Rims (suggestions gladly accepted) Lowered (also wanting to know what looks best) Now no offence, I don't want to make my car look like a sick wog car, I just want it to look good, do what I want and allow me to cherish and enjoy it. I've never driven one, but every time I see one I just picture it as being my own car. Keen to hear back from you guys. I am going to update my signature with all the things I'm doing to it all taken from this topic so that I have a clear set of 'modifications' and what not when the car is finally in my hands.

Thanks for posting rob83ke70. That's exactly what I'm looking for if I do get my license back; fuel efficiency and/or using less then what I do now (some weeks I can pay up to $100+ for fuel with the Commodore). I am not going to be buying one within the next couple of days, but I plan to within the next month or two or whenever I get results from my appeal. And I must make a note of me missing my VL when I sold it to get my VS... Don't know why though. I guess I would've kept my license if I had my VL still! :) Your ride sounds pretty good, and it's always good to be the more car-savvy person of the family, at least it helps with servicing and what not. I'm always the person that pays attention to detail especially when it comes to buying a car. I've done it twice only, true, but I try and notice everything before making a decision.

Awesome, thanks for the advice 200Boy MYSTIK. So what I should be looking for is a Seca SX with a 4age in it? And that is very true anastasios, but comparing the Seca with a Commodore VS... That's what I was getting at. I don't know, may just be me of course, but if I have a bigger and more powerful car I'll tend to give it hits here and there more often then that of a smaller car. When I had my VL, I didn't do anything until the night before I sold it. :) And I noticed you live in Earlwood. I DO TOO!

Well I'm not particularly after that one of course, but the model. Just to clarify that everyone knows what I'm after anyway, in accordance with my first post. So the Ultima is the 'best' model in other words, with all the features and the most powerful stock engine?
-
Unfortunately that's not what I'm after... I'm after some thing like this:
-
Well my cousin used to own one and I loved the look of it for some odd reason. The car just does something to me which is why I chose it out of all the cars in the world. Going older; ain't my style. I'm not too into older cars, I tend to stick to the late 80's plus. When you say boring; how so and why? And another reason why I joined the forum to ask this question is specifically due to the fact that it comes in 6 different market chassis and 5 different market engines (according to this page on Wikipedia). I prefer the one with most power and the one that has most features. In other words (if you understand the Holden talk), I am looking for the Calais of the Secas, not the Executives... I hope you guys can help me out...
-
It seems I am going to find this forum very helpful then and will help decide whether getting the Seca is the way to go or not. I've posted up a topic about it in the Automotive Discussion forum. :)

Alright guys, to start off, don't give me crap cause I'm new and what not to the whole Toyota scene (I've only ever owned Holdens; a VL and a VS) when reading this post. I am just trying to do as much research and get as much understanding with Corollas and what not before making decisions for my next vehicle. Firstly I'll give a brief summary of my current situation. I lost my license for two years (since September this year) and am planning on appealing. If I do manage to get it back on good behaviour bond or 1 point or whatever it is, I am thinking about selling my Holden Commodore VS Acclaim and purchasing a Toyota Corolla Seca (liftback); like the one pictured here. I am unsure on all the models and what not, but I plan to purchase it for everyday driving as well getting to work, TAFE/uni, etc. Now I know I may be downgrading to something older or not as powerful, but if I do get the bond from court then I obviously don't want to get myself into any more shit by driving a car that will go nuts once you put the accelerator down. All that I'm looking for is opinions and/or constructive criticism to see if I am making the right decision and whether getting the Seca is worth it in the end or not. Like I said, I do plan to use it daily for approximately two years until I am back to normal and what not. I look forward to hearing from you guys, hopefully you can help me out. :)

Bloody oath, I've come to the right place then! I am keen on getting a Toyota Corolla Seca for my next car (IF things go my way on an appeal I am doing on a two year driving suspension)... I'll start posting some things up and hopefully get as much constructive criticism and discussion possible. Thanks for the warm welcome; I've been a part of many other fan clubs and what not and always manage to stumble on rude and idiotic people... Makes me sick... Anyway, thanks again and I hope to hear from you all soon. Thanks for the support also.

Just a quick question to ask what this forum is all about and what Rollaclub exactly is? I was searching Google for an active Toyota fan club based in Australia and what not, and managed to stumble across this site. Just wanted to confirm that it's what I'm looking for before wasting people's time. Thanks and sorry for an awkwardness... :S
