I'm in Brissy northside (Bray Park) I don't have a KE55 tailshaft no... I am hoping it will bolt up to the KE30 shaft (the manual tail shafts are the same as each other I am hoping its the same with the auto). If not I can get a KE55 yoke and get a tailshaft place to put it on the KE30 shaft I guess...

Hmm the tailshaft may become a problem then... I have a later model KE30 (78) with the updated Grill and Interior pieces. Ill see if I can confirm if the speedo cable differ in anyway... Thanks for the heads up JiP

Hey Guys, Anyone know if the tailshaft from a KE30 will bolt up to a KE55 auto trimatic gearbox? Bolting upto a 4K. Cheers, Kel

Hey Guys, Getting my 20v in to KE30 sorted. I've tried to search for threads on the conversion, I've got most of the info. Can someone point me to the right direction on where to find info on these bits: Which pedal box to use for hydraulic clutch? How to use stock ECU? (ie, when removing dizzy, what do you use? How to wire?) I will be modding the airbox to allow it to use the stock ECU. Those are the 2 big things holding me back... ;) Cheers, Kel

Okay... I don't see a vac line going to the gearbox... But I also don't see any broken lines either?

I shall check for a vac line to the gearbox in the morning, I can't say I actually noticed one to there. Yeah I did read it Evan, but didn't really see anything there that resembles what I have ;)

Ok... Fluid level is now good... Shifts and takes off from 1st still fine. In all 3 gear positions (L 2 D). Will hold first gear to 60kph if I hold the accelerator then just drops gears and free revs. When I am driving along and shift from D to 2, I feel it trying to do something. I n slower speeds I now hear a whining when in the 2 position, but no other position. If I keep my foot on the accelerator in D or 2 it will select a gear for about 2 seconds then drops the gear and free revs again. In L it holds the gear and starts screaming its tits off and shakes like its going to die. The plot thickens?

True... but I'd do it in my shed... Which has a lovely painted floor so I can just wipe it up :jamie:

Ill be dead if I use the funnel from the kitchen... The wife would kill me in my sleep :D I shall get soem fluid tomorrow and make it all better. Back to planning the conversion then! :jamie:

Haha true... Well the fluid totally slipped my mind :jamie: What the best way to fill the box? Fill up some, go for a drive test the level and so forth? I've been so pre-occupied tryng to get all the stuff for the conversion since I bought the car, it hasn't really recieved the proper looking after... I;ve given up on the 3k and auto already :D

OK went for a drive... did the dipstick at idle after... And now I feel like an idiot... The fluid only just registered on the dipstick... so I think its fluid level... The fluid was red on the first reading... and I did notice a slight burnt smell... When I kept the throttle down on the drive around it did keep the car going... but definentaly still kept the revs right up in the rev range and not full acceleration.

ok sorry just read the other replys... Ill go round the block a few times then leave the car on idle and re-checl the level... Be back with results in a few minutes :jamie:

Thanks for the tips guys! just checled the fluid level. Its just under the full mark by about... 2mm Now it did want a hot reading, the car has been off doe about an hour... so I would still say warm...

Yeah it finds 1st with no problems at all... Just drives like normal until it trys to find second. Never even gave fluid a thought... Does the auto box have a viewing window on it?

I did try that on the way home... it just keeps revving and revving... Maybe I was just scared to leave it rev out... (I do baby the thing)

Hey Guys, Started having some major drama's with my KE30 today... Now I will admit I have next to no knowledge when it comes to automatic gearboxes... I was driving along today home from work... Started the car and drove off as per normal... All of a sudden I took off from some lights, the car goes to shift gear an the car starts to free rev? I pulled over as this was rather odd... Couldn't find anything wrong visually... So off I went again , car shifted normally and I thought all was well. However... next set of lights... took off fine, car goes to shift gear and again free revving... Basically, after pulling over and trying to find the solution, the car will now no longer shift from first gear... So I was forced to drive 20k/hour all the way home with the gearbox in the L position. (25klms drive lol) Does anyone have a solution to my problem? Basically... I am close to converting the KE to 20v Silvertop, but don't quite have enough funds... I would prefer this not cost me a huge amount of money to fix as it will just be sucking my conversion fund :jamie: Cheers in advance. Kel
