Hi..

I'm new to the site so sorry if I ask a few questions that have been asked over and over.

I know that in the FAQ it mentions a little bit about interchangeable gearboxes. Ive got a KE20 with a 4K engine and have just got myself a 5speed box out of a ke70.

I understand that there were two different 5 speed gearboxes brought out in the ke70, so do both go in fine, and what troubles may I have other then having to cut a hole in the tunnel to fit the gear lever.. Also if the ke70 box has the same spline as my 4k, is it true that the fly wheels out of the ke70's were lighter..

Cheers

Yes there are two different boxes, no they don't both fit. One will be a K50 (what you're after) and the other is a T50. Take a photo and we'll identify it. Easier than trying to describe the differences.

Yes

Give me a few minutes and I'll put my experience with this conversion in the FAQ.

i just got the box out today.. the car was actually running a 3K engine so I'm hoping that it should be fine for the 4k to fit in.

ill still post some photos tomorrow.. also will further lightening the flywheel get me much better power or performance out of it
