Hand Cranking A Motor

just wondering how often should one hand crank a motor while its sitting out of a car, and what amouint of oil should be put in while doing it, if it makes a differnece its a sr20, and i know that this is a toyota forum but its going in my ke30, all mounts are done, brakes done and diff installed.

Had my 4AGE sitting under the bench for a few years before it was installed, Never had a problem..

personaly i don't think it does nothing, those engines at used engine shops sit there for years and noone complains, if your reeealy conserned, pump a few squirts in the combustion chambers before you start it to free up any siezed rings
