yeah, 20 was a bit too high, was pinging like crazy, but still not as bad as the 35 i was driving it around on before that |blink|. but all is good, sitting at 7 or 8 now.

well, who's to say the belt isnt extremely worn? or the tensioner isnt worn? it happens quite a bit, it would still be wise to pull the top cover off and have a look. Takes all of 5 seconds

yes... that was one of the first things we checked when we suspected timing....

valve timing is lined up... and so is the dizzy.

 

no i didnt put the 'compound' on... but i' ve also never heard of that, nor has it been a problem for 2 years....

 

 

regression sucks.... ill give it another shot soon.

 

 

 

tas_ae71, its interesting you mention that. what would cause it to run overly rich?

well guys, problem solved. thanks to Sbox

 

 

made me feel kinda stupid really :'( the almighty spectacular, relatively new Bosch GT40r .... was playing up.... spark was weak as shit.

 

 

replaced it with the OLD coil... and not a problem.....

 

 

but we at least established it was definitely ignition.....
