Rollaboy2608 Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 well, who's to say the belt isnt extremely worn? or the tensioner isnt worn? it happens quite a bit, it would still be wise to pull the top cover off and have a look. Takes all of 5 seconds Quote
dfunkt Posted February 12, 2008 Report Posted February 12, 2008 yeah, 20 was a bit too high, was pinging like crazy, but still not as bad as the 35 i was driving it around on before that |blink|. but all is good, sitting at 7 or 8 now. Quote

Takes all of 5 seconds yes... that was one of the first things we checked when we suspected timing.... valve timing is lined up... and so is the dizzy. no i didnt put the 'compound' on... but i' ve also never heard of that, nor has it been a problem for 2 years.... regression sucks.... ill give it another shot soon. tas_ae71, its interesting you mention that. what would cause it to run overly rich? zmit Posted February 14, 2008 Author Report Posted February 14, 2008 well guys, problem solved. thanks to Sbox made me feel kinda stupid really :'( the almighty spectacular, relatively new Bosch GT40r .... was playing up.... spark was weak as shit. replaced it with the OLD coil... and not a problem..... but we at least established it was definitely ignition.....
