I'm in need of some help!!! I have a AE82 88corolla that has an issue with the Temp & Fuel gauge, There staying on full / over heating.

The gauge will go down when I turn the car off! I have changed Fuses thinking this might be the issue. But nope it didnt help.

Has anyone encounterd this problem and any Ideas on how to fix it.

Check under the back seat for the fuel sender see if it's still connected, and the same with the temp sender in the engine bay other then that I'm spent..

The gauges wouldn't work if their not connected. And if they are then it'll mean that their drawing power from somewhere else. The temp sender could be stuffed. With the both of them doing it, it does sound like there's fault at the back of the gauge cluster....

When I replaced mine (temp sender) I flicked on the keys once done and it went straight to the roof, checked the bay and hadn't put the wire back on soon as I did this it went back to normal temp. As it was worm when I changed it.

Just make sure it is a faulty cluster before you buy a "new" one and find out its really a wiring fault or something. cause to me with the fuel gauge still reading full sounds like a wiring fault.

Ok Today I've gota check out the wiring , at least I know that my Fuel light still works! Which mean I don't have to keep record of how many K's Ive done on a tank of fuel.

Hope to get it sorted soon.
