Sim Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 hey guys, needing some guidance with one of the window regs on my ke26. the RHR door window doesn't wind up and down, so i removed the door trim to have a look. the regulator is winding up and down fine but its not connected to the window itself, or isn't grabbing the window n bringing it down. its abit of a shit thing to see into so i can't see if anythigns broken, it doesn't look like it, but how is the window meant to sit on the regulator? if someone could show me a diagram of how everything goes together that would be great. does it just slide into channels somewhere? also does anyone know where i can get some good quality replacements for my door pulls? i got some off ebay which looked alrite at first, but the fken things have already broken in half, rubbish . Sim Posted April 25, 2008 Author Report Posted April 25, 2008 mmmm on further looking i answered my own question, theres 2 rubber strap things that attach the window to the regulator channel which move the window up n down n they've both snapped . anyone got any tips on fixing this? could u just stick some rubber to either side of the window and jam it in the slots on the regulator? as I'm assuming u wuldn't beable to buy the 2 particularly shaped rubber bits anymore. towe001 Posted April 25, 2008 Report Posted April 25, 2008 (edited) If this is the part your talking about, i wouldn't really be getting my hopes up of getting a new separate rubber piece. From what i worked out when two of the windows on my old '82 seca did the same thing its, like a "special" press fit or something that holds the glass in the channel. All i did was just use some silastic to glue the glass back into the channels. Worked a treat Edit - The passenger door side i used a channel from a '55, just had to cut it up a little fit. Never had any other problems after that for the 6-7 more years that i had the car. Edited April 25, 2008 by towe001 Quote
