burners803tc Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Every now and then my rolla will sputter and want to stall on me after start up. I think my carburetor isn't getting enough fuel, or the auto choke isn't working right. I have a 1980 corolla te-72 sedan with a 1.8 3tc, automatic transmission. Any help or advise would be very appreciated. Quote
trav_555 Posted August 18, 2008 Report Posted August 18, 2008 my ke70 has a manual choke and i have to let it warm up for ages when i first start it or no matter how warm it gets through out the day it will conk out you just have to give it a really good warm up keep it at about 1500 for about five mins or so just to get it running nice. also i had a blown gasket later on that made it sputter, it was exhaust one and that made it die continusely no matter what. hope that helps Travis Quote
godlovesugly Posted August 19, 2008 Report Posted August 19, 2008 i concur. my 3t is a biatch in the mornings and doesnt like to move for about the time it takes me to smoke a ciggie and find a cd to listen to, id say about five minutes. and even then its pretty slugish till its fully warmed up. if your car is heaps bad though maybe the timing is out a little bit. if its stock the timing should be 10 btdc, if you've got a timing light id check that.
