This is what the mechanic in Northern California reported: 77 corolla diagnostic- wont go over 35mph or up hills suspected coils or massive exhaust leak (back pressure) or head Gasket. Note, checked and found Catalytic converter is broken internally. I did a cylinder kill test and found no.3 cylinder is dead, performed compression test and found both cylinders 3 and 4 have almost no compression, no.4 5psi no.3 30psi no.2 135 psi and no.1 with 145psi Thanks RollaClub!! -wade

Does anyone know where I can get stock brake calipers for a te38. Specifically a 1977 Toyota Corolla wagon. The auto parts store has them listed but they are completely out of stock everywhere.

Hey all! Just picked up a 76 wagon that is in need of some TLC. Needs driver side rear door glass, entire interior, and all weatherstripping and seals. Priority at the moment is rear hinges, which I have been entirely unable to locate so if anyone here has a paid they’d sell, or if someone could tell me how to repair mine? Having a hard time sourcing parts here in the states, so I’ll gladly take any suggestions for places to find what I’m looking for.

I have a 1976 TE51 Sport Coupe, and I am missing quite a few interior clips. I have some clips that don’t have their matching pair that goes in the door socket, so those don’t work. Do you know where I could get either original-style clips or aftermarket clips that work just as well?

Bought a new T18 last night and found out that the headlights don't work, now I tested the relay and is fine, the fuses are fine, the headlight switch I think is fine? as I had another one from my other T18 an it did the same but it was pretty average as it's been sitting around getting thrown around. Wireing appears to be fine, not getting power to fuses or relay so I would think it's the wiring, if anyone has any more ideas help! haha. EDit, Horn and hazard lights aren't working as well, I hate electrical problems! If anyone wants to swap for a mechanical problem I will certainly do that!, haha. Another edit: all wiper functions and park lights operate fine.

The bellhousing from what i could google around looks like it a 2T maybe? Output splines is 22. Is it possible to fit a 4age bellhousing to this gearbox and use it with the ke70 or should i just look for antoher one? Thx

Hello everyone, need help identifying these transmissions. I’m assuming the one that doesn’t look like the other two is a T50 for my 75 SR5. Any help would be great.

I've only worked on my K or 3K engines in my 68 KE10. Got a Hanes manual many years ago. Virtually no difference in putting an 1100 together vs a 1200 My book also has the 2TE teardown in it, (up to 1974). Neighbor has had trouble getting it done and already has a bunch of new parts. Left it at a shop for 6 months and they "never got to it", somebody else was supposed to, didn't happen. I don't necessarily want to but I feel bad for him. If I end up trying to do it driveway style, would that 2T section be close enough for me to get it back together? Just a different crank and few things...maybe? I'm going to have to get the block checked somewhere for hi…

1974 Corolla / TE-21 / Peanut 2TC Engine / 4 spd Issue : After driving around the day before it no longer wants to start. What does it do ? : Cranks , Has electricity everywhere it needs, No blown fuses , good battery and cables. Has fresh gasoline and a new working fuel pump and filter. What have I done so far after the issue started? 1. Converted to electronic ignition ( problem started prior to this ) 2. New OEM rated coil and resistor ( I verified with other coil and same issue ) 3 Spark plug wires 5. Verified/inspected Cap and Rotors (OHM meter and resistance checks as well as continuity) 6 . Tested each a…

Alright, finally back on the project car after it sitting at a friends for awhile. I was looking at the original KE wiring harness and i think i lost some of it through all the moves. So I'm in need of a wiring harness if anyone has got one. Also, a few of the clips from the KE wiring harness don't fit parts of the 3TC such as starter motor, distributor, and alternator. Would it be easier just to source a TE wiring harness?

So I have a fuel leak. It seemed to be coming from the exhaust manifold so I replaced that gasket last night but I still get a drip. It drips from the furthest left of the manifold. I recorded a video and set my phone under the exhaust manifold to see where it is dripping from. My Corolla is equipped with a secondary air injection system or a smog pump, they call it. One of the connections was moist so it seems to be coming from there where it connects to the bottom of the exhaust manifold. I tightened all of the threads and I still have the leak. My head gasket seemed to also be moist and wet with fuel. I wondering if my head gasket needs replacing too but the head would…

I recently bought a 79 TE38 with the 2tc. I really want to boost it, but I don't want to deal with a blow through setup, so I'm looking into an EFI swap. I'm just wondering how that's usually set up. Would it be worth it to find a 3tc block and build it out and swap it in? I don't have any time constraints, and I'm willing to take the time to save money and do it right. Any advice from someone that's tackled this swap before would be terrific, thanks. -Goose

My old master and/or slave cylinder gave in a month ago so decided to order new ones, got them from PECAustralia and the make is PROTEX. I got them yesterday and they looked almost identical with the old ones, it seems to be good quality parts. Anyway, I put them in and found that the clutch became very stiff and sluggish like. Also, the clutch only engages when the pedal is all the way out, and the clutch is "dragging" (not sure how to say this in english but the friction plate is dragging when accelerating, hopes this makes sense). I took the new master cylinder out again and found that the rod is over 1cm longer than the old one, and I cannot adjust the new one to b…

Howdy all, i got a TE71 Liftback(like this one: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/VRw0mqTqP9I/hqdefault.jpg), it´s an 1981 model so it´s a "1 series". I´ve been doing some things the car needed, and now i´m starting my "real project", a fun car for an ocasional sideways fun. One thing i noticed was the gears are a bit long wich doesn´t help much for what i want/need, i checked my diff ratio by counting the turns and it´s a 4.1. That said, is there a diff(only the pinion) that will fit plug&play and gives me a shorter gear ratio? Pardon me, but my technical english is very poor... Thanks in advance.

Hi. I'm in the process of fitting a 2TG in my KE25 and require some dimensions from the TE27 crossmember. (A) © (D) Thanks. I think the dimensions below are for a TE37 as I seem to be running foul in a few places. Cheers.

Hi guys! I'm thinking about buying 2T engine for my Daihatsu Charmant (KE70 with different body) and put 3T crankshaft to it. Would be easier to just buy 3T - I know - but here in Finland the vehicle inspection has to be done once in a year and it's hard to transfer 4K to 3T leagally. I tried to find info about 2T with 3T crank conversion, I know that I may need to grind some room to block as rod bolts with older model 2T block will hit sidewalls. I also know that rods are same and pistons are not as 3T pistons have different (Lower or Higher?) pin height. What I don't know is should I get 3T pistons too or would 2T pistons work with 3T crank? If I do have to …

Hey guys, I recently bought a Te27 and the car looks to be lowered about 2 inches (the top of the wheel just sits under the flare) but the guy I bought it off bought it offer some other guy etc and there's no accurate information as to how it was lowered. Who ever lowered it didn't use blocks (see pic) so I'm thinking either a leaf was removed (hence my question), the leafs were reset, leafs were inverted, or the leafs just got soft over time (is this possible?). There are 3 leafs currently - is this 'factory'? Also, for those running lower rear leaf suspension set ups, what rear shocks would you recommend for street use/stance for about 2" lower? Chee…

I'm not sure if this is the correct spot for this topic, but I can't locate a new egr valve for my 1978 te51. is there another vehicle that would use the same egr? I don't have to have it where I live, so if I can't find a new one I will just delete the whole system. Thank you much!

Hi Guys, After almost a year, I finally have my brakes and suspension where I want it. Now it's time for more power! I am contemplating purchasing an SC14 supercharger unit for my 2TC. I have seen a couple pictures of other people doing this but have not been able to find a proper write up. Do you all have any advice and direction to lend me before I embark on this? I am new to superchargers and could use all the help I can get! Thank you all! Chase H

So I had my MC replaced because I kept loosing fluid and found a leak between the MC and brake booster. New MC now but I still found a leak at the bottom of the booster, also hear air escaping when I pumped the brakes when the car was off. After some online research I learned that when pressing on the pedal will change my idol and the fact that my car is running lean seems that I have a failed brake booster. I assume that the bad MC leaked into the booster and damaged it. Does this sound about right? I want to replace it myself. Seems fairly simple. I want to confirm that If I don't have to remove and brake lines from the MC when replacing the booster then I won't hav…

This is my first post, so, Hello! I purchased a 75 TE31/2TC. It is in pretty good shape but still need some TLC. Our goal is to build her up a bit, but for now its our daily driver until I finish school. Here is my post: So I have had this strong smell of fuel in my cab especially after filling up. I inspected my tank and I saw a little seepage from the fuel pump electrical connector on the bracket. See photo. Its not much but it is there. I have two questions 1. It seems that the whole bracket would need to be replaced to replace that connector. Anyone have experience with this, is this true. (My tank was full so I did not remove it to see that back side yet)…
