Hey all, first of all my 4k keeps misfiring at high rpm wen i stab the throttle and occasionly wont start or dies at low rpm, the dizzy cap looks pretty foul so I'm gonna get a new one tomorrow, but if not does anyone know what the points should be spaced at, my points are relatively new but may have moved.

and as a second question, the vacuum advance, can someone tell me where the hose should connect, i have it connected to the dizzy and to sumwhere near the carbs, but not actually on the carbs, I'm running a stock twincarb setup, but with 4k carbs rather than the 3k ones, can someone please tell me if thge vac advancance is supposed to connect to the carbs, if so, where?

any help would be appreciated, and pics would be extra helpful.

You should probably check the rotor, leads and spark plugs as well. Electrics is usually the first thing I look at when my car begins developing problems. My Corolla manual says that the points gap on a 4K should be 0.45mm. The vacuum should be connected to the carb to the vacuum advance port. I'm not sure where that is on your carbies but I will scan in some pics from the manual (again), but these also only depict the single carb motor.

Please excuse the dodgy photos, my scanner decided it wanted to flash lots of bright lights and not work!!! :S
