goldke70 Posted August 28, 2008 Report Posted August 28, 2008 Also - those bundy bottles are pretty thin, try chase up some really old thick Longnecks. Yep I'm with Philbey on this one, I haven't done ginger beer but have done about 10 or so home brews so far and I reckon its probably the bottles, plus a little too much sugar. Hard to be able to tell now though if it didn't finished fermenting or if you added to much sugar to the bottles for carbonation... 9 days seems a fair time in the fermenter unless its been at to low a temp and gone to sleep, do you have a stick on thermometer on the side?? Otherwise I'd be going with some heavies bottles, regardless of if you want to use stubbies or longnecks, get pop-tops not screw tops. Good thing you had em in that plastic box, those glass shards look hectic!! :sob: Quote
driftke70 Posted September 1, 2008 Report Posted September 1, 2008 i can see a problem with a polystyrene box can you? Quote
philbey Posted September 14, 2008 Report Posted September 14, 2008 My summer beer is just ready to bottle! Used a Munters Lager kit with Coopers liquid amber malt, about 20L for that slightly higher alcohol content. Taking advantage of the cooler weather with Lager yeasts! Then when it gets warmer, I'll slap on a few fine ales! Quote
