  1. i built this motor for response, really don't care if something sticks through the bonnet. The cooler is cooled by a radiator in the boot as it sits now, and it works brilliantly, sitting in long lines at qr recently the cooler didnt even get hot. The shape of the inlet runners, combined with the water to air cooler, and the shape of the turbo inlet, all make it a very very punchy motor.
  2. maybe, going to be making a trailer in the holidays soon then ill be taking it out all the time.
  3. just thought i would mention that i finished it, just body work left.
  4. all good, you wont have to jack it up to drain the oil! I'm not going to say i don't like your car and all that stuff, but i challenge you, put in some firmer springs, put on some 14/15s with some half reasonable tyres, get a t series with lsd go do a track day and tell me driving it isnt better than what your normal scheme is. I don't care if the wheels are jdm, i ran challengers and centerlines for ages, truth of the matter is jap 3 piece wheels are wide and light. jdm exists because it works and is relatively easy to do. You can scream till your blue in the face about how you can get pedders shocks and king springs and your mate bob can weld your diff and you got some aus spec 14x7's and didnt strip your car out and stuff. But at the end of the day where you draw the line to others is different, only difference is all the things i mentioned improve the driving experience. Leather retrims and sparkly paint don't.
  5. should think about that for a while dude doesnt make a great deal of sense at all. in regards to motor, use 4agze with t50 with custom shaft to transfer, would be the go. w55 if you can be bothered. Will be an awesome thing when done, have thought about doing the same thing a few times but have a project or two that needs to be done and used before i even think about starting another, will be such an awesome beach machine, bit of strippage and a few dash mods, get home, quickly take the seats out and hose the bastard out.
  6. depends, id want a bit more than that to take it off his hands.
  7. there are various companies that make a selection of sparkly pink cables and 20x3.5 + 55 offset wheels.
  8. I'm glad suzuki didnt get too involved.
  9. a mate of mine has put a gen 3 3sgte into a rav4, and he basically speaks of nothing about oil problems, he basically obsesses with 3s and has built many including 700+hp examples and he rarely talks about oiling issues. He says the standard block and internals are good for almost 450hp and thats reliable street driven power.
  10. you mean a dry sump setup, the problem lies in the fact that the standard sump on them is meant to be at an angle, and even then they hold very little oil, the beams sump holds a fair bit more, is dead flat, has a much better baffle and pickup design and when overfilled shows no obvious reason for failure, even if oil does pool in the head, which it only really does because of the shear angle the things are at in a fwd setup, in rwd it acts no differently to any other engine
  11. imported parts barely locally assembled :bash: essentially taking a shitty car, taking shitty parts, putting them together to make a shitty car that looks different and has no reliability, goes like ass, uses more fuel than other small cars, and its price will be questionable, but if your neighbours think your a holden man you going to have to buy it.
  12. and you know they can't see you but make no effort to look
  13. when trucks are undertaking thats when shit gets dangerous, my pet hate is people who envision themselves as safe drivers by driving under the speed limit and accelerate slowly even though they cause so many dangerous situations with merging and people trying to overtake on highways and stuff, and they always look like they don't even know where they are.
  14. i wish it happened sooner, sucks about the jobs, but in all honesty the workers brought it upon themselves, its easy to blame fat cats and so on, but at the end of the day they all have a voice, they are the ones putting them together dodgey, giving them a bad name and stuff. They just failed to keep up with the times and wasted too much money on advertising, a good product will sell itself.
  15. as far as i have noticed i have not seen 1 person put in a gen 3, into an 86 ke70 te70 or anything like that, no starlets and stuff, so as far as I'm concerned gen3 is a world first :bash:
  16. good to see you the other day justin, good arvos work here
  17. probably my suzuki sierra, although my rolla and i have a good bond
  18. I'm going to be there this friday but havnt been there since that last compy, basically pulled my car apart the next day, but itll be back in action before too long, around 2 months or something, ive said that a few times, but now it actually looks like it.
  19. watts linkage isnt viable with so little travel, any benifit you have is thrown away with play in double the amount of bushes, equal length 4 links with rose joints, decent setting and stuff is more than enough.
  20. i want around 200kw at the treads, if not more, pit of a prick of a conversion, but it suits me, could have gone sr or something like that, but i didnt really want to, the gen 3 3sgte is a really underrated engine, comes with forged internals and ballanced bottom end from the factory, bullet proof, makes good torque nice and early with a nice curve for both torque and hp, holds revs, doesnt have dodgey valve setups, and not cross breeding.
  21. can see the fuel cell how low it sits, kinda blurry, its actually higher than ive seen, but much lower than alot of people i have seen just mount it in the boot with no recess at all. braced my panard for the hell of it fuel cell mounted, need to trim straps there snug is one word that comes to mind making the exhaust on the weekend, bought 2.5 inch stainless and some bends and stuff, should come out good.
