Bought the car in 2005 as an auto from my grandfathers estate, and it was one of my first cars. Auto + 4k makes for a very dull car so with the help of a few mates from pulse motorsports car club, we converted it to manual and it was a good learning experience. A couple of the bits i bought didnt match up as they were from a ke55, so another ke70 shitta was bought for 100 bucks. still didnt have the clutch spacer for the firewall though..so the solution was to weld a 22mm socket to the firewall..dodgy..but does the job just the same. Ive been slowly trying to tidy it up and it has been teaching me heaps about cars, for which I am eternally grateful for. anyway, after what seemed like an eternity of 4k boringness, a mate offered to sell me the engine from her KE10, as she is upgrading to a 4agze. the motor is fairly worked, specs are as follows : 5k engine, (1.5l ex rally car ) balanced, blueprinted, flat top pistons, lots of head work, wild cam ( can't remember all specs but 500thou lift ), custom made valves, pushrods and rocker gear. twin 40mm dcoe webers. Extractors. 5k's originally came out with elec. ignition, but stuffs me where that ran off to, this has points, so I'm in the market for an elec. ignition setup from another 5k, also needs a bigger exhaust as the extractors are currently welded straight to the original exhaust. 2" press bent should happen very soon though. future plans involve sc14 goodness, but currently trying to sort out some suspension upgrades in time for its virgin sprints meeting.
