andro0o Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 (edited) well i searched and read the faq on getting a k50 into my 4k ke20. though I'm curious, so to the people that have done it, do you really need to actually cut the floor as irokin has suggested in the article? can you perform the conversion without doing it? edit: also do i still use the std tailsahft, as i can assume a k50 might be longer than a k40? irokin Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 I used a KE70 K50 so my shifter position was the most extreme of the 3. I think even with a KE55 K50 you'd still have to cut something out of the floor. My hole wasn't big enough really. When the motor torqued in reverse it would touch the side of the body, other than that it was alright so I didn't enlarge it. Because the floor pan is starting to taper down at that point the gearbox sticks through the body a little more than it otherwise would. Quote
dfunkt Posted October 14, 2008 Report Posted October 14, 2008 (edited) ok, i started with a 3K KE20 with a K40. installed a 5K and KE55 K50. no mods required. using the original tailshaft from the KE20. Edited October 14, 2008 by dfunkt Quote
