Indicator/tail Lights Thingy

yo i have a ke30 and everytime i indicate (only to the left) the tail/brake lights turn off.

even when the car is switched off

i think its a short but is there anything obvious that would be the cause??

any info will help as i can't be f#%ked takin it to auto electritian as yet!

bad earth or bad connection to the light on that side..
