Jason Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 I'm just throwing some ideas into the air here. Say _IF_ i run an overdrive pulley for my motor. The water pump is also overdriven. Which will cause more strain on the motor. What would happen if i put a spacer between the pump and the pulley to move it across onto the alternator / Air-con belt? How much stress would be put on the pump since the the point of force is moved away from the Bering? Quote
Super Jamie Posted April 9, 2005 Report Posted April 9, 2005 you could probably mathematically work out how much strain is on the bearing by measuring the tension placed on the belt versus the distance from the bearing, but i don't remember formulas for load from high school science unless you plan to rev a K motor past 10, i'd say stock will be fine Quote
