dmn666 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 i'm wondering if anyone can help me work out what struts i have in my corolla... i had assumed it was all sprinter running gear, but when i tried to fit up KE70 steering arms to my struts the locators miss by about 3mm (wider on my struts)... i've been assured that KE70/sprinter do bolt up, and have been led to believe that my car may be using RA40 celica struts instead of sprinter... the steering arms in my car are marked R8/L8 in the casting if that helps... any help in confirming or denying this info would be appreciated.. jordan_ke Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 KE70 and AE86 are not identical mate, there are interchangeable bits that alow you to easily make them a bolt in affair. What exactly are you trying to do? Quote
OniBerserker Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 i had assumed it was all sprinter running gear pic's would help when you use 86 struts you have to use 86 steering arms or 86 ps arms the ke70 ones will not fit, the 86 strut is a bit wider. Quote

The ke70 and ae86 sprinter steering arms do not share the same bolt pattern. You will need to use ae86 steering arms or xt130 steering arms to fit ae86 struts. If the struts are 2 inches in diameter you will have either ae86, celica or corona struts. Or possibly t18, if I had to guess. The strut top 3 bolt pattern is the same on ae86 and ke70, and the rear suspension is more or less the same. The ke70 and ae86 lower control arms are the same. The difference is the diameter of the strut and the bolt spacing under the strut for the steering arms. Quote
