4age Silver Top Timing Adjustment Help

hi there guys just wondering if anyone out there knows what terminals i need to bridge to adjust the timing on my 20valve silver top 4age? we tryed to adjust it using the T1 and E1 terminals and this seems to have brought the timing back to defult mode but after adjusting and removing the link the electronic advance rebooted (like it should) but it seems to be worse than before. also i would like to conferm where the timing should be set at as the specs i have been given seem to be wrong. also does anyone know what would cause the car to miss but only between 2000-3000rpm, the coil, leads and spark plugs all apear to be ok when tested, is there something i am missing here???

if you can describe the exact steps you went though to set the timing, something doesnt sound right
