TOM Posted June 2, 2009 Report Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) Hi Scott, Last time I checked (last year), putting a 5K in a KE70 is as simple as going to Transport SA, grabbing an engine number change form and filling it out. Of course, they need to do a mandatory engine number check (they don't need to actually see the engine) to make sure it is not stolen. I'm pretty sure they have a list of what engines are legal to fit what KE** rolla's in SA, the general rule of thumb I think is no more than 30% more power than standard. The 5K falls into this category easily, but as others have said you will notice the difference and it is well worth it. Go to Trasport SA and ask the question if you're unsure - just make sure you use the word "standard" everywhere, remember that it is the same motor externally and no modifications need to be made to the vehicle, it is just a slightly larger capacity.
