neil Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 hi guys. ive just spent the last 3hrs looking on here at brake upgrades for a ke55. i currently have mx60 struts, vented discs, single piston brakes on the front. with r31 rear discs and a slightly larger master off a corona. due to a 1j going in i think i will need a little more braking power. will the xt130 twin piston calipers go straight on to the mx60 strut? is it worth it? i was thinking i would be better off going to the 4 spots off of the hilux that i hear some people have done. i havent been able to find the tech info as yet and was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction. cheers. SLO-030 Posted June 30, 2009 Report Posted June 30, 2009 All the info you need, right here Corolla/Celica/Corona brake upgrade Basically what you'll need is XT130 struts, MX62 calipers and RA60 discs and hubs. I was going to do this conversion but have decided to go the next step. The XT130 aren't really worth it over the MX62 calipers. Whats I'm doing is Using XT130 struts, VN commodore vented, slotted and drilled rotors and a pair of 4 Runner calipers. using a 15/16 MC off of a commodore. This would probably be the better option, plus the shape of the pad used in the 4 runner calipers are the same as other performance cars so finding some race spec pads would be easier too. Hop this helps Quote
