looking to put some coilovers into my gti once i've done my motor swap. I have got quotes for new ones but i want to know if ones form other cars fit. eg. ae86, s13 and such...

you best bet is finding a set that is built for a the ae9X chassis rather than trying to adapt a set from another car.

 

i know of a few companies have built unit for the ae9x.

 

if you have a look on Twincam.org, i think you may actually find a set currently for sale

ill elaborate a bit more as well, i doing a little bit of searching on yahoo auctions for some JDM (YO) parts for my seca, and i came across cusco s-comp and JIC coilovers for the ae9x, they were auctions for brand new items as well so yeah they are available or you can buy coilovers them from ISC here in australia as well :)

 

or if you want there is D2 and G4 coilovers available aswell(not that i would touch them with a 10ft barge pole)
