Oil Pressure

hi all

just a quik qeustion i just installed an oil pressure gauge (electrical)and at idal its reading under 20 psi

i know i have a very thin oil and its about 1000km old

and when i rev it up its at about 70 to 80 psi does that sound normal

i had to extend the wire with old speaker wire i found,would that affect it?

Before you get abused, goto the knowledge base/FAQ at the top of the screen and scroll down to OIL pump. Also might want to edit your original post to include what engine it is, i don't think the speaker wire will affect it, its only an electronic signal (unless there is resistance in the circuit)...oh and it sounds like its within specs
