swiftyke10 Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 Hello, ive just installed a 3k and 5 speed box into my 1968 toyota corolla. I encountered a problem when i realised that my stock ke10 tailshaft doesnt fit the 5 speed. So i ventured to the wreckers and bought a ke70 tailshaft (which is two piece; Unuseable). I bought this coz the spline off this tailshaft fits the 5 speed output shaft. i was going to take apart the uni and use it on my stock ke10 driveshaft, but alas, the uni is a different size and can't be swapped. All i need to know is what one piece tailshaft from later model corollas will fit the output shaft on my 5 speed, so i can get one and cut it down to fit my ke10. Or even better one that is the right size and will fit my 5 speed. Any help is appreciated. Plz email me at [email protected] Luke Swift Quote
Super Jamie Posted August 1, 2005 Report Posted August 1, 2005 i believe you can use the spline from a ke20 or ke30 tailshaft (the one with the smooth jap diff, not bolt-plate borg warner diff) and just change the unis over on your ke10 tailshaft, no cut/weld required, as all jap uni joints are the same Quote
mikeys toy[RL] Posted August 2, 2005 Report Posted August 2, 2005 when i did daisy i used the yokes from a kp61 starlet, they were a straight swap. i had trouble with the 4k ring gear; it would not mesh with the ke16 starter, and the clutch splines were different Quote
