PMP020 Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 hey people i need a quick show of hands if anyone has used this sort of setup on a 5K before. or if anyone can give me some facts as to why it would, should, or shouldnt work ? ill accept the fact it maybe a lil under fueled but its just a stock engine being daily driven nothing fancy. cheers, Scott. Pongwow! Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Should be allright, but why not run 5k fuel pump and carby?? Quote
GJM85 Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 not sure there would be a great deal of difference in the fuel pumps. Though the 3k carby and manifold has far less pollution gear you'll want to be careful it doesn't run to lean because .....POP! Quote
Pongwow! Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 i thought hes using the 5k manifolds? Quote
towe001 Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 3k fuel pump - just make sure you use the spacer for the 3k pump. The one for the 5k is different. and early ke55 4k carby and manifold. I couldn't be arsed in trying to rebuild the 5k carby which lead into me not wanting to be arsed in modding the 5k pump so that it could be used on the 4k carby. So far the only problems i've come across is that quite often the fuel filter is close to being empty. Quote
PMP020 Posted September 12, 2010 Author Report Posted September 12, 2010 thanks guys, so, I'm now running a 4K fuel pump with 3k carby simpley because i don't have the 5k gear to suit. runs alright, setup was pretty easy, but definatly noticed that the fuel filter runs very low ? cheers, scott Quote
towe001 Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Good, i'm not the only one. But when the motors running its fine I've been pondering the idea of an electric pump Quote
