December 3, 201015 yr comment_485973 Hi all, Just picked up a ke36 panel van and I am wanting to give her a full service. This is my first rolla and have only previously had silvia's. I picked up a Gregory's manual to help in the future for tinkering but I wanted to know what oils and fluids are recommended by all here on the forums. I'm sorry if this has been covered before but I wanted to get some info from all the rolla enthusiasts! :) Report
December 3, 201015 yr comment_485981 brake fluid. dot 4 atf - dextron 3 manual gearbox oil - castrol ep80w diff oil - manual says ep80w but seams VERY thin for diff oil so use castrol EPX90 steering box - ep80w engine oil - 20w50 for a std engine. 20w70 for a VERY tired smokey engine. and 20w40 for a freshy rebuilt i think thats it? December 3, 201015 yr comment_485989 20w 70 you reckon Evan... mines pretty tired, ill throw some in. Report
December 3, 201015 yr comment_485990 does it smoke but? if its tired and smokey use 20w70, if its just tired use 20w50 Report
December 3, 201015 yr comment_485994 A little bit on start up. I usually put in whatever is on special (castrol) as my engine in fast approaching 680,000k's and it prob doesn't matter. EDIT: sorry for the hijack Hingwaah, easier for whoever needs this info instead of starting new threads. Edited December 3, 201015 yr by blzbub666 Report
December 3, 201015 yr comment_485995 yea go for 20w50 (my 5k is sooo smokey i use a gearbox oil in it LMAO!) its like honey! Report
December 3, 201015 yr Author comment_485996 It seems like a pretty healthy motor, nonsmoker. So 20-50W it shall be, no real point in going semi or full synthetic? Any recommendation on brand for engine oil? Used to use Anglomoil roadmaster in the Silvia, was perfect but it was 10-40w full syn. Report
December 3, 201015 yr comment_486009 Castrol. Support the guys who support the website who supports your need for info on oil. Edited December 3, 201015 yr by blzbub666 Report
