Hey guys looking at painting the steel tray on my hilux because it's a bit rusty and looks shit!

 

The question is what's the best way to do this I have done very minimal body work so treat me like a 5 year old!

 

I was thinking sand, primer then paint? Or should I wire brush?

wire wheel on grinder. it can be harsh but does help to show up the rusted areas. then sand, etch then prime.

don't forget etch!

or the rust will grow under the primer/paint, you can never prime bare metal with out treating it or etch primer
