I'm kinda lucky very little work needs to be done up front to get the wheels to fit, still havent decided what wheels will be going on it just yet. thinking a set of 15's or 16's with a nice white wall to contrast the black car. chassis will the same red as the drums are painted. a mate suggested I should do a Mater style look ( from the movie ""cars"") but its not really the right shape for it

the only thing I dislike is that even when dropped on the ground they still look high because of the high roof of the cab but the only way is to chop the top, but I don't have the skill or the patience for that much work but atleast it could always be a pipe dream

thats 15cm off the rail, will need to be tubbed. thats just the wheel sitting under the tub. i had the tub sitting on blocks at the height I want it to be. to get it to fit properly i will need to tub it as wheel wells are very narrow. it will eventually be notched bagged with 5 link rear and eventually it will either lay rail or go very close. fronts will also be on bags,

thanks to a mate of mine for helping me out, front and back brakes are now reco'd repainted fitted and have with new bearing up front, new pads all round. A shout out to Rosco's Engineering for taking car of the machining and welding work ive had done at short notice even right before closing time. The bogan BBQ was running hot and so was the midnight oil, the tub has been removed for easier access to rear leafs so i cna get stuck into the suspension and frame work
  8. took me a while. she had to tell me the number of pi i though it was 3.739 but its not its 3.1416
  9. 260 (D) x 3.14 = 816 div 360 = 2.26 so there fore 2.26 = 1 degree? so 1 degree for 1 inch drop. its currently 2 inches P/C so i could go crazy and drop 5 inches and still be on a safe limit of camber. although when braking and the nose dives a bit that is obviously going to increase mmmm oh and if i ever carry a decent weight in it which is unlikely
  10. I'm currently getting a maths lesson off a 15 year old on how to use pi. and too think i got high marks in my S/C for maths oh wait that was 6 years ago.
  11. ive been trying to reconstruct this as a full scale model using masking tape, a texta and a tape measure but I can't actually measure the angle. any one out there feeling creative and what to get measuring for me?
  12. street tyres will be fitted once resto is close to being completed, its currently fitted with 31'' muddies. just been drawing up a full size scale of it and the horizontal line between point F and point D is actually lower at point D by 2.5'' so if it drop it 3'' it will only just have N/C sso they will be room for more chop and drop later once it get the new wheels on set the ride height to a level i am happy with
  13. so it doesnt look like a totally meaningless question i will show you what I am working with. its '74 F100 with twin I beam front end, my issue is that if i fit lowered springs it produces negative off set, there is an equation for how much drop to how much camber but i can't find it right now, the next step after lowered springs is to get a set of drop beam from the states but thats atleast a 6 week wait, ive already got the rear sitting at the right height with a 7 inch drop but I can't quite get the front low enough. I hope to have the truck back on the road within 6 weeks but can't do it with the front sitting so high. for those of you that are good at maths the I beams are 130cm long from mounting bolt AKA pivot point to the centre of the wheel. if i drop the springs 3'' how much camber will that cause?
  14. just playing around with the truck and just wondering how much negative camber can be safely run on the fronts with putting my self or others in danger?

yeah i sure love the older trucks aswell 67 to 69 model are my favourites, but they were too highly priced or too far gone for a short term project. ive been flat out with work and with the missus about to pop out another bub, she doesnt get work on everyday, but today i got stuck in and 9 hours hard work, done so far striped front brakes removed heater/ cooler unit, canopy removed bullbar and towbar/rear step and slide steps removed, started sanding it all back currently sitting on stands on front while brakes are done but rear is still on wheels at new height thanks to flipping the front hanger of the leaf springs. which has set it a total of 7 inches lower. the fornt will take a little more work to get it sitting that low. here how she is currently
