Has anyone had a 2A hooked up to a 5spd manual, I am assuming it is possible due to the 4A having the same block. I am just wondering how it went. I can't really afford a 4AGE transplant as I have just bought a house but would like some extra performance. I am however buying a rolla sedan wreck AE82 that is 1.6 3 spd auto, so if anyone wants some sedan parts at a fair price posted at their expense pm me. Thanks

your right in the way it bolts, up, the only real difference should be the bore and stroke internally. I think what your doing should work well. When your ready put the car in the for sale section as wrecking.

I'm interested to see how this goes, I have a 2AC with a 4 speed manual & have contemplated upgrading the box to a 5 speed as on the freeway doing 100km/h its revving @ ~4000rpm. In theory the C series boxes should all bolt up to the A series blocks...

4000 rpm at 100km/h is a bit rough carbonboy, with my auto I nudge about 3100rpm

It is, fuel economy goes out the window & it gets annoyingly loud. If the exhaust note was nice it wouldnt be so bad, problem is aint! Maybe cannon muffler + 5 speed for the win! :P
