808 yoda Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 I'm a noob! Just bought a 78 2dr rolla with 25,000 miles on it. No rust! I figure I drive the car with the existing motor for a while and start by lowering and adding new wheels. I just acquired 14" celica/supra wheels. What wheels and tire size do you have on your ride? pics would be great, even if I haven't posted any pics on my car yet. Quote
carbonboy Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 A 1978 Corolla with no rust?? NEED PICS!!!!! If you don't get many responses here, have a browse through the Rides sction. A lot of people post up details of what wheels/tyres they're running. I'm presuming you have a 4x114.3mm PCD, so you're not exactly short on choices. Quote
808 yoda Posted February 19, 2012 Author Report Posted February 19, 2012 I will post pics as soon as I get the car back from the shop. Yes. That is my wheel spec. Thanks! The car belonged to a 98 yr old lady (First owner). The car has been parked in their garage for 4 years and 2 years at a family friend's shop. The shop is getting the car in road worthy condition, since it's been sleeping for 6 years in a garage. The gas in the tank probably turned into water? Car starts, it has 25,101 on the odometer, interior is in great condition, and no cancer. There is surface rust, but very slight and white paint is faded. I paid $800.00 for the car. The car will get painted, as soon as it gets out of the shop, but i will get pics first. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted February 19, 2012 Report Posted February 19, 2012 (edited) can't wait to see it. Out of interest where are you located? What engine is it running? Edited February 19, 2012 by B.L.Z.BUB Quote
808 yoda Posted February 19, 2012 Author Report Posted February 19, 2012 can't wait to see it. Out of interest where are you located? What engine is it running? Born and raised in Hawaii. I live in Virginia beach now. Ever since I bought the car I been on rolla forum and google. Sad to say I'm pretty sure I have the 3k motor with 4 speed tranny, but it will do for now. I need to research more on what motor I want in the future. I just want to cruise with it. No drifting. No quarter mile, just want it to run dependably, look good, and enjoy it. I can't wait to get it back, but I won't rush technician, if all he wants is to make sure the car runs in primo condition. Quote
B.L.Z.BUB Posted February 20, 2012 Report Posted February 20, 2012 Well if a cheap reliable cruiser is all you want then the 3k is pretty much perfect. I'm assuming its a coupe? Or 2 door sedan? http://www.rollaclub.com/board/uploads/monthly_05_2010/post-9001-1275210185_thumb.jpg Quote
