Hi,

 

I just recently bought my first ke70 corolla :)

I picked up a grandpa spec, 1 owner, XX model (5sp and aircon) flat front for cheap as chips.

 

Anyway, as it is far too stock looking, i thought the best place to start would be to lower it, and fit some nice wheels. As much as id love some fat wheels with stretched tyres, I've found some nice wheels for an even nicer price for sale 2 minutes away from me.

 

They are 13x5.5 with an offset between 0 and +10 (the guys not entirely sure). Now, the problem is, I'm not entirely sure how well they will fit, and mine, and the sellers availabilities are incompatible for a test fit..

 

Can someone please tell me how these will fit, and if you have any pictures, that'd be awesome :)

welcome mate.

 

here is how you figure it out for yourself, then you can do it next time :wink:

 

figure out the factory ke70 wheel.

from this the concensus seems to be 13*5 +32

 

so then you take your new specs (13x5.5 0 or +10). and plug both these numbers in to this:

i used +5mm (half way between both numbers you gave)

 

now the website sais,

 

it will give you an EXTRA 21mm of clearance to the inside of the strut, good!

 

but that wheel will EXTEND an additional 33mm towards the guard, which isnt that drastic, as the oem wheels stick in about half a mile from the guard.

 

but to make sure, find something that is 33mm thick (make something temporary, bits of old wood, anything that is 33mm thick) shove it between the wheel and the hub, bolt the wheel on, and see where it is going to sit.

 

then you will know for sure how your proposed wheels fill fit ;)

 

also, 5.5" is damn skinny still....

 

why not go for something you can get a bit of tyre onto? go for a 7" +13 or so, they sit real nice with a 195 tyre on a ke70.

 

5.5".....still dealing with cheese cutters for tyres.

As for the wheel width, I know its skinny as, but they're too good of a price to pass up! and the fact that they have brand new tyres is the kicker!

If the guy doesn't take my offer, i will be saving for something a bit wider.. but I don't really want to spend too much on this car, as its just my daily, i've still got a project sitting at home :)

 

Although, I'm half tempted to turn my project (Nissan Exa) into the daily, and drop the stroked and forged CA18DET i've just finished building into the keto :P
